All right, game on:
- Stalingrad captured! In a desperate gamble encompassing thousands of partisans, nearby garrison troops, bombers from Moscow, tanks from Gorkiy, and a brilliant amphibious operation from the Caspian Sea, the Red Army annihilated a full 5 divisions of crack Panzergrenadiers and a further three divisions of German infantry, and innumerable Soviet divisions reoccupied what was left of Stalin's namesake city, much to his delight. Unfortunately we do not expect to hold the city in light of the numerous fascist armored divisions holed up in quality siege fortresses west of it, but we'll see.
- Four Wehrmacht infantry divisions south of Leningrad cut to ribbons by a Soviet battleship.
- Two stray Panzer IV divisions northwest of Moscow were destroyed by Russian bombers.

In this 2194 thread starting up at Civfan, I offered a solution to this AA Battery phenomenon, which I have seen at least once in every 2194 PBEM attempt. Whatever the glitch is, we agreed to simply edit the rules file so that the AA batteries have a movement of 1. This way we can be certain that Ctrl-n's will work.
Now obviously the units had 0 movement for a reason; such as preventing unbeatable stacks. That is why it would become an official house rule that no one, under any circumstances, move the AA Batteries. It would just be considered a remedy to a glitch; not a scenario change. Furthermore, any taking advantage of this change for gameplay would be easily detected and considered cheating.
Klesh condoned it there, and I wonder if you guys would allow it here as the house rule would make the gameplay exactly the same. At least then Russia could have half a chance, so I would suspect that at least ANZAC and Case wouldn't object.

Stalingrad Returns to Deutsch Hands
Stalingrad.- Despite the retreat from Stalingrad undertaken by the Wermacht, the preparations for a renewed offensive had been under preparation outside Kiev with the arrival of new tank prototypes for our SS Panzer Divisions. The Soviet offensive has thus been met by an even more powerful offensive with these newly upgraded SS Panzer Divisions. With a combined arms attack of Stukas, Bf109s, Panzer, SS Panzer and Panzergrenadier divisions, Stalingrad has returned to the hands of the Reich, showing once again the tactical inferiority of the Bolshevik menace. Meanwhile, hundreds of these new prototypes roll off the production lines in the industrial heartland of our beloved Reich.
For his brilliant offensive, General von Paulus has been ascended to the rank of Feldmarschal in Berlin last week, by the Fuhrer himself.

The New York Times
Japanese Fleet Smashed by USAAC 'Heavies'
The remnants of the Japanese Combined Fleet have been totally destroyed by USAAC 'Flying Fortress' bombers. In a devestating attack, two wings of the deadly aircraft sunk a Japanese battlieship and a carrier of Hawaii. Naval inteligence believes that all of the carriers aviators went down with the ship.
White House insiders have reported that upon hearing the news of this great victory President Roosevelt lept from his chair, grabed his beloved wife Eleanor around the waist and danced a happy jig with her.

- In another counteroffensive that is expected to be temporary, the Red Army has occupied Riga. It is reported that four infantry divisions, one motorised infantry division, and two squadrons of Ju-87 Stukas were all annihilated with no Russian losses. We do not know if the city will be held, but the attrition was worthwhile.
- Everywhere else on the Eastern Front Russian troops were devoted to hit-and-run raids which destroyed 2 infantry divisions, a regiment of artillery, and an engineer detachment.
- This month the Red Air Force has shot down three German bomber squadrons as well.
- Citizens cheered as anti-aircraft batteries re-entered their home cities after conflicting orders were straightened out.

While we're waiting could I possibly get confirmations that you all have the new rules file? So far it was only downloaded once, and I think all of us should have it so that nobody has the phantom thing happen again.

Well, you're the only one who has his AA batteries scattered all over the place. So there really is no need for everyone to dl them, so long as you move them back to your cities and you're not leaving them scattered all over the place.

Well I think that at least Henrik needs it, because even if I ctrl-n my 1-movement AA batteries, the AI could take them over just before his turn since his rules file still thinks it is zero.

Monthly Propaganda for the month of March 1942, Japan
India occupied
In a glorious attack of typical blitzkrieg modell the crown colony of Brittain, India, has fallen to the Japanese attackers.
Only the isolated city of Bombay has yet to fall, only becouse our glorious armies haven't reached it yet.
The battle for australia rages on
With the fall of the cities of Melbourne and Adelaide the only city in the australian mainland still resisting the Imperial onslought is Perth, however the city has only been under a light submarine blockade so far and is expected to surrender the minute the Imperial army shows up in it's outskirts.
Meanwhile, plans for the occupation of Tasmania and New Zealand are being drawn up.
Japan wows to buildup a new navy
Plans are being drawn up for the creation of a new breed of modern war ships and carriers to take the place of the ones lost off the west coast of the USA.
Meanwhile the remnants of the imperial navy is confident that it can handle what excuse of a fleet the americans can put up against us, we assure everyone that there is no risk whatsoever of an american invassion of our glorious empire.
Rumours has it a naval landing in Suva is being prepared to demonstrate the power still left in the Imperial navy.
