German Panzers Storm Cairo!
Cairo.- Erwin Rommel's Deutsche Afrika Korps mounted an impressive combined arms offensive last month against the last British bastion in North Africa, in Cairo. The Germans sustained moderate losses but all were to the greater gain of the Reich, as British defences, air and ground alike, quickly collapsed after a sustained several month siege. General Rommel has been recalled back to Berlin after his successful campaign for his promotion to the rank of Generalfeldmarschal. He is also rumoured to be suffering of mild mucotic allergies, but shall soon return to Alexandria to command an offensive that will bring the Middle East under German control from Jerusalem to Bushire.
Dritte Panzerarmee Seizes Caucasus!
Baku.- After the successful counteroffensive that recaptured Stalingrad last month, reserve forces in Stalingrad recuperated for the drive into the Caucasus that has culminated with the seizing of Baku and its rich oil fields on the Caspian Sea by General von Paulus. Von Paulus has been congratulated, as well as Airfeldmarschal von Goering for the continued excellent performance of the Luftwaffe in mopping up rogue elements of the Red Army trying to make their way towards the areas of German occupation, as they have proved to be most valuable assets in the consolidation of occupied territories.
General von Manstein has not fared as well however. Suffering from low class troops and reserves and a lack of modern equipment worthy of mechanised units, a renewed soviet push has driven the German units in East Prussia after sustained battle in the Masuryan Lakes. Despite the retreat, von Manstein has vowed to return and defeat Soviet forces around the Masuryan Lakes in a battle that will make Tannenberg wane in comparison.

The New York Times
Fortresses Strike Again!
The Japanese navy has once again been humbled by the USAAC's all conquring force of B-17 bombers. This month B-17's sunk The super battleship 'Yamato' and the convoy that she was escorting.
----------
I'm agreeable to changing the rules to either reduce the B-17's attack ability or to give Zero's a range of 2 so that they can escort convoys.
BTW, at the start of my turn all the German AA bateries on the Atlantic wall moved inland!

This is happening, I assume, because when the german player Cntrl-N's he is removing the movement points from the 0-move AA guns. Then, when another player loads up the game with a different (1-move AA) file, the German AA's suddenly are alloted a movement point they didnt have when the German player originally cancelled all the movement for his units.

If you've changed it to have a 1 move AA, then yes, everyone should play with this new file.
Let me know if this solves the issue.

I was using the new file, so I'd say that's why the AA's moved. All the other German units seem to have stayed put

THE Counterattack!!!
Soviet troops cheer atop a T-34 in Kharkov.
In a massive push timed to coincide with the spoiling attack on Riga, General Zhukov led virtually all of the Red Army’s capability from Moscow to Kharkhov. After careful consideration he and Stalin chose that city as the target in hopes that an encirclement of Stalingrad could be achieved. If the enemy forces we encountered in Riga were any indication, Hitler’s extreme overemphasis on the southern portion of the front has concentrated most of his forces in Stalingrad, so seizure of Kharhov (and subsequently Kiev) would achieve a Cannae-like trap around Army Group South.
Our attack ended up not even needing a siege; our artillery commanders were surprised to find only one division of Panzergrenadiers in the city. After they were annihilated the floodgates were open; hordes of Soviet tanks poured in and slaughtered division after division of vulnerable infantry in and around the city.
But then came the surprise that turned the Battle of Kharkov from a regional advance to a memorable turning point: after the meager ground troops in the city were destroyed, our troops found and destroyed virtually all of the Luftwaffe’s bomber capability on the ground! The destruction of the city’s vast airbase complex was so important that when Stalin was told the offensive’s resources had been exhausted, he banged his fist on the table and ordered all reserves in Moscow and Gorky to the front to attack until all of the planes had been destroyed. The battles that took place on the airfields themselves were very easy for Russian troops; only one exhausted guard detachment was destroyed in the attack by brave Luftwaffe pilots wielding only Lugers. Field Marshall Goering is expected to cry buckets when it is reported to him that a full six Stuka squadrons and their two fighter escort squadrons were gone in an instant.
Kharkov has been well garrisoned, and unlike our raids on Riga and Stalingrad, it is expected to be at least held if not advanced from. Also, our plans of encirclement have been begun somewhat as 63rd Army and 3rd Tank Army have formed a strong defensive line immediately west of Stalingrad to delay if not prevent an attempted breakout by Geman troops in Stalingrad.

The crown jewel of the Brittish Empire in Japanese hands!
India falls!
With the capture of Bombay the last city in brittish india has been siezed by the Imperial Japanese army, only a short pause was made however, before the invassion of Pakistan commenced.
Pakistan is expected to be in japanese hands by the end of this month.
War with the Soviet Union!
In response to the Soviet offensive in the west the Imperial Japanese army succesfully attacked and siezed the city of Vladivostok, the airfields, having been left intact in the swift blitzkrieg attack are now being put to use by the Airforce which is preparing to bomb various soviet cities in the near future.
With this offensive the Japanese high command hopes to lighten the burden of the german troops involved in the fighting in western Russia.
Furthermore the Island of Sahkalin has been seized by Japanese forces.
The naval war rages on in the pacific:
For the first time in the history of the Pacific war, Japanese fighters has been able to hunt down and destroy a brigade of american B-17, while many good pilots died this is a great victory for Japan and proves that the war is far from won by the US.
Furthermore a large contignent of american airplanes where cought on the ground and destroyed during a naval bombardment of the American AFB "Henderson" east of Port Moresby.

Yes, but not regularly. Could be up at 3 AM or sleeping at noon, it's all from circumstances. I just respond quick because I leave the internet on while I'm going about my business, and just look at the mailbox icon here and there.
