Should there be catastrophes?
Reading about the climate change post I was wondering if they will be included in the game? I tuned them off in the earlier games because I felt that they were unfair in the earlier games and that it was only used to give the AI an advantage if you were ahead.

I think most catastrophes should be time and map triggered, such as flooding, volcanoes, earthquakes.

Diseases and plagues should definitely be there as well. On humans as well as plants (causing low food production)

All of these have caused great migrations in the past

I hate randomly´triggered catastrophes and randomly triggered babarian attacks - most people just reload an saved game, if the outcome is too disadvantageous. There is a way to work around it:
