DC - there was some posting on this a while ago. We resolved that ppl can have the same position four times running, but after that we really should get someone new in. If you look at the High Council thread (at the top), you'll see also that most of this terms' Councillors have kept their place, with some rearrangments. And moreover that quite a few hopefuls (or in most cases they are running unopposed and thus have huge ) this time are from BOTH previous terms. This is largely due to the reluctance of those who haven't done this before to get involved that much (that is certainly why I haven't thrown my name in to serve my country yet).
Hopefully, with time, some of us will want to get involved a bit more - especially when (HINT, HINT) ppl like MdS, shade and their ilk tell us just how easy it is to be prez/advisor.

It really isn't that hard, the only thing you need is some commitment: ie at least visit the threads once every 2 days and be up to date of what is going on...
And when you get the latest info from the prez you you can start think what polls need to be held, not that much work.
I really will try to get the speed up a little comming 2 weeks(ie trying to get 2 playrounds/week in schedule.
=>It would be nice if we could work in cycles of max 4 days
D1 I post and in less then 24h the poll's are up for 48h then when those are finished the advisors send me their results in PM (=> this should happen somwhere round 80h after my original info boost...and within 24h you'll get the next amount of info)
I don't know if this will be possible,but I have hope ...

Being president is a bit time consuming - you must read the new posts each day, make sure the advisors get their polls started on time (with info provided by you), and keep things organized. It's only for a month, tho.
I think keeping things moving is the only tricky part. The prez must give the ministers all the info they need, then assemble it all in order to play in a timely manner.

How long does the election last? I may have missed seeing it somewhere, but could someone fill me in on this?

"Imperial Expansion Advisor Steele". Great name points. Dumb as dirt, but has really perfect electable attraction!
(just kidding you about not noticing your own election poll).

I voted for Shaka Naldur so that steele won't become so engrossed in his duties here he'll forget his duties on the civ3-stories board
