Technical Problem w. Downloads
I've been having a problem when trying to download scenarios or files larger than 700kb. I've tried everything I know to fix this, but nothing seems to work.
Maybe someone here has the answer...
For no apparent reason at all, i'll download the scenario, say one only 870kb in size, and it'll just cut it off at around 700kb. No loss of connection, no limits on my downloads. And this is a recent problem, as a while ago I could download 14mb files with no problem...
I use AOL as my ISP. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Dammit I want to play some new scens!

Warvoid, do you use any special downloading utilities? If not, I recommend trying out Go!Zilla - it allows resumable downloads and much more. It could solve your problems.

Go!Zilla is a 2.83mb download. It still stops it at around 700kb....

Yes, get a new ISP
Now, are these downloads all from the same server?

Gozilla is spyware. Don't use it.
Unless you don't mind having information collected about all your downloads and sent off to who knows.

As opposed to what? A Microsoft program?
You are being spied upon allready, by the Echelon/NSA and Microsoft individually (you do use office and windows, right?)
They aren't even trying to hide it (ok M$ are, but everyone knows what they did anyway)...
Sorry just had to say that

Go!Zilla has spyware!? That's annoying. Any alternatives?

I think most of the other "free" download accelerators spy on you as well. That's why they are "free". I suggess doing a google search on the term spyware. Many people make lists of what software contains spyware.
Henrik, what you say is true. I am merely suggesting that when we have a choice, that we try to protect our privacy.

AOL happens to be my only option for an ISP, due to where I live. I live in the boonies, where scattered acround me, the nicest houses (beyond mine) are trailers with wooden plank siding...
As it is, I have to make a toll call to Springfield to get a hookup to a hub, because that's the closest thing to me... It sucks...
Anyhoo, it's not a specific server i'm trying to download from, it happens eveywhere I try... Apolyton, CivFanatics, CNet, GeoCities...

I use AOL and have not experienced this problem. There are plenty of other reasons to switch ISP's, but i dont think AOL is the cause here (unless it relates particularly to the AOL server you dial up to)
