DiploDealing
A new aspect of the game/ check out this game at http://games.swirve.com/earth
(Go to Standard and choose Game A [Intensive])
this game is an internet game where you build empires and trade and war with other nations.
As a side note (message me in the game #9327 if you join)
But the point of this is for the Multiplayer Aspect of Civ 3. Lets say we do this radically
different and play the multiplayer aspect much like "Play By Email (PBEM)"
You are given say 40 turns in a megagame with 100 people and can build your empire.
You may craft alliances and sign treaties, trade pacts, declare war, etc.
Everyone receives 40 turns a day and can attack, ally, etc. If a person is under
'vacation' he is inactive from the game for 2 days and cannot attack or play, however
he accumulates the excess turns and then can play the 80 or so turns and attack if he
wishes.

Thank you for joining... I recently got Shadowstrike to join- Just ask if you have any questions about the game; (If you want to you can join my clan ETO2025 or Shadowstrike's APOLYTON clan.) Good luck!
but the main question is- does this game seem like a feasable model for a Civ3 Multiplayer mode?

... Once again I will reiterate- Is this model good for civ III's multiplayer mode?
Now- to answer questions-
A bump is a way to keep a thread current.
Youngsun- do you play?
My net right now is 272k and I have been playing for less than 10 days.
I am in 10000th place.
I use Communism
I accidentally got in a war because of my allies, however since I am killing the opposition it doesn't matter... The people I am allied with started 4 to 7 days before me in the game and I still have a higher net and larger army and higher place than them!

I played few month ago and soon lost interest. The best way to increase your NW is never get involved in unnessesary wars and make nice juicy grabs. In 2b, which I mostly played, I was ranked 142rd and that's my highest rank so far.

(I am in game Standard A)

I'm afraid civ can not be handled in that way.
In Earth, people affect each other by making treaties and wars whereas ,in civ, there are too many related matters which have to be treated simultaneously or at least by one turn interval.

I've not played the game, but the concept of missing turns then getting extra moves later rings alarm bells. This was a source of much vitriol even in a simple PBM game like Quest. The ability to 'catch up' became strategically critical. Save up a turn every now and then when things are quiet, then hit the opponent with a double turn attack before they can react later. The person with the extra turn could use it to seriously damage the opposition or fall back and recover a good defensive situation. No single turn attack had that potency.
Civ with simultaneous movement for all sides could be interesting. Difficult to get the interception and reaction moves put in place when some pieces have huge movement, i.e. via railways, aircraft, missiles but would be good if it could be done well. No 30 tile invasion routes to take the enemy capital before they notice!

DC, I've been in the game for the past few days - joined the APOLYTON Clan
I can see where the general game play might be able to be played as a pbem-based civ game...but of course, those missed turns which pile up could be disasterous!
My main heartburn with earth2025 is that there is no map/graphics which depict your nations layout compared to your neighbors. But Earth2025 is still pretty interesting...I'm having fun so far. I log in once a day make my moves and sign out (takes aroud 5 minutes).

But if they limited the number of turns which could be stored...
