Unity War Discussion Thread
Post comments, questions, at your liesure. I will respond to as many as possible. I hope you enjoy it. I have written the first three installments, but will only post every few days. That way I hope to avoid long delays in posting to my story if I get busy and can not write.

Hi, Micah! Good story, and I hope to be able to see more of it coming up in the near future!
Just a note - in my computer, your story is turning up with all sorts of strange artifacts and symbols. Near the second half of the page, nearly each sentence begins with a new symbol that my computer can't translate.
Here are a few suggestions to make your story more readable to everyone:
1. It's best to type it in a plain text editor program like WordPad or NotePad (both are free with Windows). Any other program, such as Microsft Word or Microsoft Office, tends to leave in a load of formatting that can screw up the fonts for other mediums.
2. Point 1 above is preferable to typing it straight into the posting box here at Apolyton, from your viewpoint. Apolyton has gone down on me once or twice in the middle of long posts, and to prevent losing all of my post, I prefer to type it all out in Notepad first and then cut and paste it into the Apolyton post field. This also saves time online, which is important for a poor little modem user like me
3. There is no point three.
4. If you happen to have any software running that alters your characters, eg Chinese Star (for typing in Mandarin characters) or French e acute, or Spanish cedillas, it's best to turn them off. Otherwise, some viewers might not be able to view the symbols except as a large square.
Hope this helps, and I'm looking forward to reading more!
PS Welcome to Apolyton, new member!

Hello Apolytoner!
I did not have any problems reading your new story thread! Since all the veteran AC Fiction ppl know who I am, they would agree that I am a true Hive fan!
I like your contribution to the AC Fiction thread. But why would Lal, Miriam and Yang would agree on anything?
I do like your relation to past historical events.......kinda reminds me of History Guy.
Anyway, I want to see what happens to the *retch*Spartans*retch* and hope the Human Hive gives them a give whuppin'!!!

Huh! What?? Did Franky say something???
Well, now that I'm awake (thanks Franky, was kinda dozing off there), I've read the first bit of the new thread. Looks good to me. I especially like your references to Lee and Jackson!
Keep it up!

Hi All,
Thank you for your input.
Alinestra Covelia, I will transfer my stories to a note pad in the future to help those who are geting some funky info in my posts.
Frankychan, I want to show the war primarily from a Spartan and a Hive point of view. Lucas is the primary protagonist of the story and will focus mainly on him. But I think you won’t be disappointed in the long run. As far as The Hive, The Peacekeepers, and the Believers being able to form an affective coalition… well, we will see how successful it will or won’t be. But from an ideological point of view, they do not need to agree if they have a common goal or desire. In this case it is plain old greed. Everyone wants a piece of the pie. And in the earlier years of the colonization of Chiron the loot that can be pulled from the wreckage could go a long way at boosting an individual faction above the others.
History Guy, One thing that bothered me at first with the general Alpha Centauri story was a noticeable glossing over of what happened on Unity and on Earth before the game begins. But, I find that as a storyteller this lack of detail gives me the freedom to tell the story. I want to be able to show the differences between the Terrans and the native born Chironians, so flashing back to the past is a good vehicle for that.
I am glad that everyone so far is generally enjoying my story. This story has been forming in my mind for about two months and so far is the best one that I felt others would enjoy.

Micah G., excellent story so far. I cried with the others when Tom had to be put down by Lucas. I especially like the historical references. Thank you for such an interesting story. Awaiting more! :-)

Hay All,
I am going out of town on business for close to a week and I need some help. In an upcoming episode we will visit the Morganites at a rec commons that includes an enclosed golf course with an earth atmosphere. Also included will be a small beach resort area with a 10-acre lake. This is what I need, a really good name for the complex. Any ideas are welcome. Thank you and I hope you enjoy the latest installment.
