The historians elected thus far have been a bunch of lazy bums! We need some new faces over at the imperial library.

Must have been someone who accidentally checked both yes and no.
So what happens if someone running unopposed is rejected? Hold another election?

It's four already. An oppositional political party forming? Anyway, opposition or not, at least the president can consider himself rightful elected now.

On the other hand this leaves me with a question...they don't want me to be prez but I haven't seen anyone else interested in this job .
Shade All opposition will be assimilated, resistenz is futile...

Why, 17 out of 21 is a good result, more than 80% and many more than a lot of "real life" candidate ever dream of. And opposition is a substantial part of a democracy, even more, a real democracy won't work without it.
What's a lot worse is, that only about 40% of our citizens voted at all. I dare to ask, where the majority (60%) has hidden? And why they consider themselves citizens of Apolytonia if they don't even vote. It's their only duty. So c'mon lazy jerks!

It is only good for the game's democracy that cabinet posts aren't as easy to get as in "my" times. Of course, the opposers ought to produce an alternative as well.

I dunno, you're just a bit too warlike and aggressive. On the other hand, I may have been playing too much civ3 recently, where war is pretty badly simulated (thought I don't mind much), wars and war govts are extremely harmful economically, and republic and democracy are about 10 times bettter than in civ2...

I only stop by every 3-4 days, and there really was no one who came up to challenge you. I couldnt take the responsibility, and I saw no other obvious candidate...
