Just a question:
I remember the stupid commands in the events.txt that said: "If Paris conquered, destroy Allied civilization"
Did you fix that problem?

The final push was made against besieged Czernowitz this month and Russian troops captured it after suffering heavy losses, as usual.
Also Russian generals were pleased to see less inaction in the new German Kaiser, which allowed us to pick off numerous stray German units all along the front.

Offensive Launched!
Today troops in the French 6th and British 2nd Armies launched an offensive, capturing Lille and destroying most of the Northern German line. Now they are regrouping to push on through Belgium.

Really? Then they must surrender now!!!
I know that this may sound weird, hard to believe, but it´s the truth. And please, believe me!!! I didn´t cheat!!!
I just copied a "DARIUS MILITARY STRATEGY"...
So, if you want to know more about this military advances, just ask Darius, ok??
PARIS SEIZED; FRANCE CONQUERED
Yes, it wasn´t that hard. I just avoid the Northern Allies Line of trenchs. I went south, and break their defenses near Strasbourg. After that, it was a piece of cake.
Well, this is the list of the cities captured by the german armies:
Paris, Amiens, Le Havre, Rouen, Troyes, Orleans, Le Mans, Caen, Tours, Nantes, Rennes, St. Nazaire, Cherbourg, Brest, La Rochelle, Limoges, Bourdeaux, Bayonne, Toulouse, Clermont, Montpellier, Vichy, Lyon, St. Ettiene, Grenoble, Avignon, Toulon and Marseille.
At least half of them were empty, so i just moved my troops and capture them. The others were poorly defended, just one or maybe 2 soldiers. Anyway, i won´t be able to mantain control over the majority of these cities.
One more time... if you want more references about this kind of advance you can ask Darius about it, or visit the Pre-WW1 History PBEM in Civfanatics.
I just used the railroads
Does it sound familiar Darius??
Now, it´s your turn to move... let´s see who will win this time

Well actually its my turn.
We know you didn't cheat. Scott was building a ton of engineers and thats how he managed to conquer many cities in Russia. You just applied the same strategy to a different front. But now I'm going to have to find a way to make engineers unable to build railroads over no mans land i the next update, if this a PBEM game of this scenario is ever played again.

Academia, you're embarassing me...
But I have to give you props, that strategy is way way harder in this scenario!
BTW the turn posts he's talking about for anyone curious: the instantaneous conquests of Germany and France. An interesting read.
What do you say ANZAC, should we try to keep going or end the game? I can't help but believe that France was well conquered but meanwhile will also be poorly defended, so you might still have a chance. And I can say safely that Russia is currently impregnable.

As I said in the Pre-WW1 History PBEM in Apolyton: I don´t like the use of railroads in PBEM games. We are humans, not the AI!!!! The AI maybe stupid and doesn´t realize that this kind of advances are possible, that´s why it doesn´t matter in a single player.
But humans are capable of accomplish these conquests in one turn. Obviously this goes against the "nature" of a World War 1 game!!!

You are right Darius. England is intact. I just wanted to conquer and pillage these cities with the main goal of weaken France infraestructure.

That´s why i chose france and not Russia

Granted, but I'm tempted to think that ANZAC's defenses were just weak; if he knew what you would have done he would have placed his troops differently.

Yeah, I'll probably take away the railroad scientific advance from everyone and make it un-researchable. I do like the idea of railroads within one's borders to help troop movement, but I think it's kinda cheap to blitz one's way across enemy territory with a horde of engineers. My fault for not forseeing this as the scenario creator, but at least I'll learn.
Anyway, I'll do my turn.

Anyway, the drama of Germany's success in France gets quickly overshadowed when headlines display news of the awesome forces of the Austro-Hungarian Empire gloriously marching through cheering crowds in the cities of Pristina, Podgorica, and Lemberg in celebration of the liberation of these deprived lands from the hands of their slavic oppressors.
BTW Italy, get your filthy paws away from Trento or else Rome will be the next to join my party.

Ouch, again, number 2 for me
Yes I didn't anticipate that because I assumed no one would try something that crazy
I had units, just as darius said, not in a postition to stop that.
Well, I guess I could try and continue

All right, I emptied Toulon and Marseilles, but didn't take them or any other of the two dozen empty cities since Britain can defend them better. Instead I used some more forces to pick off several German artillery regiments.

Crying shame, I just had to take it.
Trento captured, and an impregnable defensive line has been organized the the Alps just north of the city.
In the Russian turn I just picked off German units which were (yet again) foolish enough to venture beyond their cities.
Also our nation mourns the loss of our Slavic brethren to Austro-Hungarian opression. Unfortunately we have no troops to spare for their liberation.
Good luck ANZAC, hope you have at least a dozen artillery lying around somewhere.
