General City Improvements Queue
We have 13 cities now, too many to poll for each improvement project. We need a general sense of the order of construction for a "typical city". Understand that there will be exceptions (like Citadel or some location with high trade arrows like spice or gems).
So, I have set up 3 general priorities for the poll. The first is for people who really want to insist on safety and martial law, the second emphasizes gold and trade, the third leans toward research.
Caravans, triremes, and barracks will be inserted into the order of building "as needed" for the demands of the Empire and as special goals require.
And of course if this queue causes difficulty or becomes obsolete, I will re-poll the citizenry!

I like the last option best, but with a slight adjustment - defender, temple, settler, library... So I suggest promoting the settler to the third built.

Good set of choices, cavebear. I just hope we don't overbuild improvements at the cost of expansion, trade, and WoWs. The Second Option looks best to me, as Marketplaces will help with happiness issues as well as trade/gold. And we have happiness issues!
Start
2nd defender should be a diplo!
BTW, do we have any candidates for a SSC? I'd rather see us go that route than build libraries in every city...
Vote OPTION 2, ppl !!
End

I've already taken a look around in our cities and one thing amazes me in your poll none of the lists contains
1)caravans
2)diplo's
-->we should stack some caravans because the city building our wonder is just a joke so small.
-->before we get mikes build the first thing our new cities will need are things that make them happy=> temples.
and defence vs possible barbarian raids.
so option 1 looks best to me(although with a temple build when needed)

General City Improvements Queue
I like option 2, but for expansion, as MWIA, I think settler must be promoted at third place.
So I'm for option 2 bis

Shade, Caravans and Dips don't have a *standard* place in a queue. They are just built whenever needed. This general list I'm polling about is for routine improvements so I don't have to poll for everyday decisions.
I am looking at the individual cities right now and making notes about resource use and shield production, what they are producing, etc. Should have a report to send you tomorrow about that.

i don´t like this poll,
we need some caravans now for the wonder,
and trading with the recently discovered egypt is a must
the applying of this poll should be flexible,
but if we have to chose i prefer #3

since it will take at least 2 techs before we can start mikes.(we're building a wonder now so we can convert it later.)

Defense is good, so are temples/libraries, but the Expansion Ministry's new ambitious growth program needs settlers to work.

Hmm. So many very different POVs!
Can we decide on the first few builds then?
Defender, temple, settler?
cavebear, perhaps you should redo the poll to make it a mulit-option voting one, where you have several options for the "first 3 builds" and "second 3 builds", so that we can see if we at least agree on SOMEthing!

-->1 or 2 turns left before this tech is discovered
=>next tech most probably will not be monotheisme(just try to go for that option when in the science screen(goal)=> "No tech's leading to this advance can be researched at this moment" )
=> so the most earliest would be the second tech
do the math=> >20turns(this is without trade)

I think the science goal screen is only saying that because we don't actually have Polytheism yet. Unless there are too many ancient techs we skipped, I think we will be offerred Monotheism as soon as we get Poly.

The question a aivability of Monotheism in the next science choice screen is important.
But there is a way to predict if we may research Monotheism in 2 turns... or in 10/12 turns !
Go to the basis contributions : there is a link with a decisive discovery by OEDO (link from The Great Library does'nt act) where is described the law along which the turn of available techs are proposed to choice.
cf this link : (the title is "oedo's unfinished")
http://apolyton.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2512&perpage=10&pagenumber=1
The calculation is rather complex, but it's a job for science advisor (MBloomIII) to apply oedo formula and to give the response to our President !

Can't say I'm overjoyed by any of the choices, why only these three?
But if these are my only choices, I think I'll go for #3 as marginally better than # 2. I definately don't like #1.
