Army problems!!!
O.K Armies, at first you think: great idea, 3 units sharing their HP. 3 units attacking together...
But is everything so peachy? No.
I have a few questions:
-Can you change units in armies, or are you stuck with the ones you loaded in the first place for the rest of eternity?
-Is it possible to load naval units into an army?
-What is the best strategy dealing with armies?
Thanks.

In answer to your questions.
Units loaded into an army are permanent. There is no way of changing them.
2. No there is no naval capability to the army
3. offensive or defensive. the ai is afraid of armies and usually won't attack them. because of that, they're grreat for defense. I usually use them for that or for mopping up enemy troops.

I started a regent game last week as the Americans on a huge map with 7 other civs. I discovered early on that the Japanese were my nearest neighbors and they weren't too far away either. Luckily, and I have never had this happen before, I got two armies from goody huts very early on, before I had found my third city. From that point on I have had my best game of Civ III yet. I took half of Japan's cities, razing Kyoto in the process. This has made Japan a non-factor except for acting as buffer between myself and the French and Germans. Just about all of the civs have been annoyed with me for the past 500 years but none of them dare make a move for fear of my great and powerful armies.
I really wish one of them would attack me now though, I'm even or ahead on tech with everyone, I still have my armies and because of their early victories against Japan I was able to build the Heroic Epic before I left the ancient era. I know that if I attack someone everyone else is going to give me the bum's rush.

You found armies in goody huts? Didn't know that was possible...

This is already patched in version 1.17 IIRC.
No armies from huts anymore (never had had anyway).
