Thanx ! Two first levels of CTP2 are without ruins .
How stupid of me !

Actually I am a Deity-player from my days of
Civ2 and CTP1 , but I try to be humble ...

... maybe I was to humble to think ?

Just bought CTP2 with no ruins ...

HI there !

Installed the game : no ruins/huts !

Updated with Activisions 1.1-patch : no ruins/huts !

Then tried modswapping Apolyton & BlueOrange : no ruins/huts !

Now I'm here at the forum : no ruins/huts ?????

The game was sealed in the Activision-box ;
manual , techtree , cd-case and CD is OK ...

What's going on ???
And please don't tell me to close my antivirus/firewall !

Thanx if you can help me

PS : There is a working ruin/hut-spray in the cheat/edit-tool ,
but I don't wanna make maps before i've even played it !
I feel so

I remember reading that at the easiest level you dont have ruins.
Since the AI has a higher chance of getting good things out of ruins.
But i never played at lowest level so i dont know for sure.
Try a harder level.
And keep us informed.

PDA-CIV,
3 threads on the same topic? Don't be surprised if one or two of them get closed in the near future.

Edit: or deleted, whatever...

Pedrunn,
It's your idea, so why don't you add it to the FAQ? You should get the credit for having the idea of adding it...

Edit: too late...

So next time Pedrunn you have to know on your own what has to be in the FAQ on your own: Next time don't ask just post.

You're welcome to delete them ...
Thanx and sorry about my overdoings (hyperactive child ,
you know !) and please delete all the threads about this -
but I think it should be accepted in the FAQ !

What about modding the easy level - is there a bug ?

And now another candidate for FAQ :

The only thing I miss from Civ2 is the randomizing of the content in the Goody Huts/Ruins ; can this be "fixed" ?

Thanx and

I know therefore I waited , it is just for the future to help you to keep you from some overdoings again.

As I started to play CTP1 I missed this feature, too. But actual the CTP1/2 version is a bug, because if it would be in than it would mean for me hundret procent city change for me, everytime I entered a hut in Civ2 I saved before and reloaded until I got my city. So the result was a pretty fast expansion actual a cheat, the Civ3 method I think would be to remove huts from the game entirely, at least the did it with a lot of not at 100% working features.

Let's get it ou in the open ...
I am gonna start a thread about that (for me) serious subject ,
the randomizing of the content in the Goody Huts/Ruins !!!!

Actually I quickly found it very silly to restart to get a better GOODY ...
I realized that it gave the game a "live-touch"
which a game like chess totally lacks . In this way you could
use your skills to rule etc. as well as "making up history as we
went along ..."(Linda Hamilton in Terminator2) . I'm a great
backgammon-player too , it has this dice-element of uncertainty
that Heisenberg and our danish Niels Bohr discussed with Albert
Einstein ... Maybe I'm just a crazy Physics-student !?

The FAQ has growth and i dont quite know all the questions/answers in my mind and i wasnt in the feeling to check if it was written before.

Still I pretty much feel good to help the first day of a newbie be a help for others newbies.
Of course since he gave me the roalties by telling my help in the post
