Nasty little game design tweaks
Okay, it's a bit boring at work today, and I began having some ideas for design tweaks that would be annoying.
1. To annoy the micromanagers who tweak shield outpout in cities, make every unit or improvement cost a number of shields that's a prime number. Then set the cities so that production shields are always rounded down to an even number.
2. To annoy those who hate culture flipping, have it such that at least one city flips every turn.
3. To annoy those who hate pollution, have it appear at opposite ends of the empire. Also, the workers are fearful of going to clean up gook, so they can only move one square at a time if they are going to a pollution site.
4. To those who hate Catherine, have her show up in Diplomacy and always offering to show her body.
5. To those who hate disappearing resources, have them always disappear as soon as they get roaded.
6. To those who hate AI settler sprawl, have the AI be given a settler every time a city builds a new unit or improvement.
7. To those who hate that planes can't sink ships, have an animation that shows the sailors catching the bombs, and using them to repair the damage to the hull and decks.
8. To those who think that the AIs' galleys are unsinkable, reveal them immediately as soon as they are built, and show their movement every turn.
9. To those who don't like the domestic nag, have her pop up every turn to remind you about size 6 and size 12 cities, even if the appropriate techs haven't been researched yet.
10. To those who hate the AI tech-trading, after any time the player negotiates a deal to buy a tech, have the AI civ point out exactly how much the other civs paid for the tech.
