I don't think we can give him the CC cause they are mainly watchers now.
Hmmmm, collaboration. Might want to talk to the other authors. General Tacticus had an idea about having a dissident faction of Spartans and Sprayber let 'im. What do you have in mind, Centauri?

I'm not really sure. I'm kind of go-with-the-flow about this kind of thing. I can work with pretty much whatever you guys decide to give me.

ya gotta choose what you want. It won't be enjoyable if you are assigned to some faction and do not want anything to do with them.
What are your idea's?

New post indirectly finishes off Menelaus' visit, and directly sets the stage for internal strife and a battle of wills between President Adams and Senator Maxwell.

All right. There's just too much you can do with this, and, well.... considering that I'm used to dealing with the factions from the beginning of the game to either conquest or Transcendence... it's hard to imagine what the factions would be like 740 years after they left Earth.
But what I've got so far:
1. I really like the idea of an evolved Cyborg faction, the Algorithm evolved to allow such things as certain emotions and warrior spirit, and cloning technology to allow faster growth - you know, everything they never got to be on Chiron.
2. That Mars idea certainly sound promising. Humanity on Mars would have to figure out how to live with less space (Mars is less than half the size of Earth) and/or modify the planet's gravity so their bones didn't waste away (Martian Gravity is much lower than Earth's) but they'd probably have the hang of it in seven hundred years.
3. Venus. Now that would be a challenge. A planet way too close to the Sun with a runaway greenhouse effect... That would certainly produce a much tougher human race.
Well, that's about it for now. Any other ideas?

If I hadn't taken up the Drones in the beginning, I would have been sorely tempted to go with Mars. It's an incredibly interesting planet all-round. I've never been personally sympathetic to the Consciousness, but they're still an interesting faction, as they can be interpreted as the end product of the mechanistic view of humanity (my physiology classes make the function of nerves sound like a treatise on the operation of fiber-optic cables, psychological disorders are the result of chemical imbalances, &c.).

I've been getting some great ideas about what to do with Mars - huge populations mining Phobos and Deimos (Mars' two moons, which are actually captured asteroids) and then making them into small-country-sized space stations. I was thinking that it might be the Martians who learn how to modify gravity and use it not only on the space stations, but inside the planet itself.
Also, I've been reading Kim Stanley Robonson's Mars Trilogy (Red Mars, Green Mars, and Blue Mars) and it sounds like a very interesting idea. Yes, I think I will go with Mars.

And I guess that unless a large portion of the Terrans have taken to living underwater, I guess the fact that Mars is thirty-percent the size of Earth evens things out a bit, huh?

Welcome Centauri18. Mars sounds just fine with me. You can also do an independent world in another system if you like. It's up to you. I just thought that Sol may be getting a little crowded

Oh, wonderful! The more Terrans the merrier!
Hmm. I should prep you some info on the Mars stuff... There's the Mars Combine 'n all. They've had their differences with the Homeworld in their time, and there was that period with the Mars Republic around. I'll get back to you.

Yes, but they more of a minor faction compare to the other factions...only controlling one system, Lanlande, where they pretty much secretly playing observer and guardian of the humans and the unnamed aliens there....and prevent other factions from entering the system. They are spread out, acting like Comstar, operating a public comm network (not good enough for interstellar internet/datalinks thought) and their own more better secret network for their collective. rather keep them passive and in the background until after the timewarp.

Terroforming of Mars is almost completed by now...but air still too thin, so most people still need to where breathing mask. Other notes about Mars:
-Mars Combine is the second biggest sol member, and have the second biggest member force.
-they operate a Social Democracy... democratic socialists, like the free drones would be in SMAX.
-pro-independence feeling for all colonies that wish it, especially from big monguls like Earth Coalition. but in the past bit, they are passive and only active with out in the TA Council...in the past bit anyway
-operate a green/planned economy
-still some anti-earth coalition feeling, but not as bad as before.
-make sure to read general history and terran sol history.

yes, Venus is a tough bunch, but somehow succeeded in colonizing Venus and currently able to keep the environment stable enough for proper Pressure Dome colonies and mining. Have lots of orbital factories, hydroponics, and so on.
They are the third biggest in power and fleet of the members within the Terran Alliance, but their population levels isn't as high. Their government is more of a leaderless collective...not like the Cyborgs, just more of a council where anyone can participate whenever there is a debate or decision to be made. They are also socialists.... where the people TRUELY does control the economy and industry, not the government or private ownership. So pretty much Planned by the people economy, or co-operative.
(quick note, socialism/communism not evil, just Stalin, Mao and so on is )

Check out some of my ships. Just so all you people that write about Spartan ships will have some idea.
http://www.geocities.com/kessel74/SpartanCarriers.html
http://www.geocities.com/kessel74/Sp...tackShips.html
Nothing too special. Just some carriers that projects Sparta's power and the Warlock and it's little brother that takes great joy in tearing up enemy fleets. More to come

People, I have edited TAF posts, and Kerensky message to Kessel (which is not perfect, as i suck at it). Just want Kerensky and Kessel to see eye to eye, so they both agree to a cease fire and then figure things out at a peace negociation table... Kerensky isn't desperate, just trying to avoid a diplomatic fiasco. The Events stated in the TAF post may be soon afterwards...while the Hive post after that is like during what was said in the TAF post.
Will be awhile before i can redo the pirate intro post...which i have started barely, as i needed to get off for someone else.
Anyway, that event happened 15 days before the TA attacks started... crew survivors dropped off at an anarchistic colony, and where Novan ships fix up and so on...and where Joe Nova checks his messages with the local cyborg comm array 10 days before the attacks.. he accepts, and makes some negociations as for the contract and so on. Novan ships starts arriving at the systems where they will be defending throughout the 5-7 days before the attacks. Joe Nova finds out from some Data Angel contacts that the Spartans discovered which pirate clans that was involved (Wolverines and Novans) 3 days before the attacks and does realize the implications of that... the Novans will soon or later become wanted, and the morganites will turn around and try to arrest them, as they are allies to SF and FDR.

Red/Green actually, with hints of rivers/small lakes.... they have melted the ice caps, a long with succeeding at planting some forests. most of agriculture needs is from Domed Hydroponic Farms.
if you refer to the book, haven't read it yet
Oh, by the way, i reserved the Wraith fighter from Starcraft for Mars Combine before.
another quick note, Mars operates their Utopia Planitia Ship Yards, where they build military and commercial ships for themselves and others, as well as some TAF ships like the Terran Battlecruisers.

You're right...kinda. The white we see on Mars is frozen Carbon Dioxide, but there is frozen water under them.

OK...another post done. Sorry, Franky for not surrendering to you. It's just that I rather doubt that the Morganites would surrender to the Hiverians, as I don't think they would know what'd actually happen to them then. They know that POWs are treated well by Terra, but based on the Hive's policies on Chiron, they ain't too quick to surrender to ol' Bippol.
Lonestar-- Franky's right, what about the trade on the Hive commlink?

Like maybe succeeding in cornering some of their ships? sure Remember, they are quite good with fighters and small ships tactics.... and using unconventional means of offence/defence and so on tactics.
Novan ships will run off to different star systems in the independent areas or at the edge of human space. possibly go hide in Peacekeeper or TA space too.
Sovereign - yes, University can contact TA, but better to wait until the war is ends and a peace treaty written up and signed.

History - maybe should edit the older posts...as Cooper's forces won't be bombarding Samnos after all, especially if the Morganites there surrender Morganites soldiers will see how friendly the Medics and Engineers will, as they will help deal with the wounded using medical nanolaths, which wil sort of suprise them...quite an medical technology (originally from the Scions) and the Engineers repair nanolaths to help seal breachs...and generally help deal with fires and rescuing trapped morganites.
what are the names of the other two systems again? will the Novans be all over the least defended systems in the Corperate Sector? will use the oops post for Joe Nova's reply to Kerensky's offer.

So who do I talk to about getting started? I hardly know any of the back story, and, well... it would be helpful to know what's happened in this story. Maybe I just might need someone to collaborate with on this.
