Even from space, Canada is still a dim blotch next to the USA...

What a beautiful picture!! Thank you very much for posting it.
I looked at it for a long time; theres a lot to notice, but I saw one really striking thing...
Look at Korea ... you can almost see the exact line between South and poor North Korea. I am not fanatical capitalist or anything, but it is such a sharp line it really helps show the difference in prosperity.
About Canada ... I am surprised there is that big triangle jutting north, right in the middle, like near Alberta or so. Seems strange to me everyone is inland instead of along the coasts ... crazy Canadians...
Anyway thanks again for posting it, very cool.

That's the grain belt. It extends from the plains of the USA through Manitoba, Saskatchewan and north-westerly through Alberta into the Peace country (Peace River). Peters out just over the border with BC. Among the best agricultural land in the world. Not absolutely best, but very darn good. You can clearly see Edmonton and Calgary. They are slightly larger blobs immediately East of the Rockies with Edmonton being slightly more East. (The arrow points "you are here" for me).
I think a lot of people are glad there a bunch of lunatic Canadians living up here growing grain and pumping oil and... playing Civ???
Nice try cyclotron7. Just exactly where are the Crossroads of Karpala-dun?
