A Proposal.
I suggest a duel, Me Vs The democratic apolyton government. Playing the AI doesn't offer that much of a challenge, but when playing an experienced player, every decision you make could mean life or death.
Would this make for an interesting game? Are there any takers...

Democracy ain't quick. We've been going for most of three months now and we're only up to 580 AD!
And our first two terms were rather less busy - especially since some advisors were figurehead positions only.
So... do you have a spare year for a game?

I would personal decline the challenge as we have not got the experience yet! Maybe after five games of this!

Individually we all beat the AI anyway and I'm sure most of us would run this civ differently than how it is going so far .

On Diety level? ... The AI would kick my ***!
I used to be able to do good on Emperor, but it's been so long that with Civ II my skill is at Prince level...
Then again, I haven't won a game of Civ III yet, and I've been playing at Warlord level.

Markusf, are you going to play a Despotism against our Democracy? That would be interesting.
Although I personally want to form the Communist Party for our civilization and get Communist Party members elected, so we can switch to Communism, mwahahahah....
