Isn't the readme coming out today?
Or is it tommorrow. It's four o'clock in the afternoon now?
Patiently waiting.
Yes, NYE, you got what you wanted.

OK. Now all we need is someone to opine on how 'US' EST is the standard for the entire planet and we'll have something.

So you too figure they'll release early again and deprive you of your theme thread, eh?

US EST is the standard for the entire planet.
Isn't it obvious?
Americans got the F-15 for their UU, and thus get to decide these things.

You'll need more than F15s to back that claim up.

Gee, didn't you know? New York is the capital of the world, thus EST/EDT is the standard time of the world!
New York has all of those wonders of the world, like the Statue of Liberty (oops, that's a collossus knock-off and knock offs don't count), the met (whoops, that's sort of a great library knock-off), broadway (never mind, shakespeare's theater knock-off), the UN (yeah the "wonder is why anyone takes it seriously, oh yeah, nobody does, just ask a rwandan), wall street (bah! its only a small wonder and a knock-off of the london exchange - wait, that's another game which is itself a knock-off of civ), cleopatra's needle (wait, that's stolen so it generates no culture), the guggenheim (the building is so cool, you won't even notice all those pictures on the wall - but I guess SID didn't think it was a wonder so who am I to say it is), and of course, the Empire State Building (also a wonder in the knock-off version of the game).
Move to New Zealand!? They're making video games, not movies. (LOTR got robbed - die opie, die!)

For those of you who are too new to the theme, and are challenged by your lack of proper culture as a member of the commonwealth...
Standard time is a British/Canadian (emphasis on Canadian) invention.
Stick that in your F15 and smoke it.

US EST is GMT-4 right?
It would seem the US are still haunted by their colonial days.

hmm its about 6AM now on the Eastcoast
probably 2 more hours till all Firaxians are at work
then maybe 2 more hours till someone remember that they should post a readme.txt, then somebody storms in and explains they have found a critical bug. The readme.txt will not be posted. But a message that it will take about a week or two longer.
Happy Civin'

Interesting how discussions like this could even begin. Seems like people don´t really have enough to do (like myself?). But I totally agree that the "standard time" would be GMT, not anything else.

Well when it comes to the README we will have settle for
FMT.
Firaxis is Mean To - make us wait.
Still its better than if the they BLOW the patch for the third time in a row by not checking to see if they actually have the correct files.

Which bit of the world does Firaxis reside in timezone-wise?

East Coast of the US in the state of Maryland.
Keep in mind that they are not on on Eastern Daylight Time they are also the less regulated
PMT
Progammer Messy Time.
So don't expect someone to post it at 9 AM East Coast time unless some poor schlub has been pulling an all nighter.

After years of extensive measurements and observations, it has been determined that the sun, moon, planets and stars revolve around me. Therefore, time is measured in relation to my geographic location, which happens to be the same as ET.

I'd be surprised if they will post it in the morning when they come to work. This would not make sense, in this case they could've it posted yesterday evening. If the README is posted today (let's pray) I suppose it will be here 10-11pm GMT, not earlier.
