1.21f Unit Upgrade Problem
I installed the new patch.
Started a new game.
Secured an iron resource.
Built a barracks.
Attempted to Upgrade my Warriors to Swordsmen.

The option was not available?!?

I tried performing the upgrade from both the city view and the standard game view.

I did have the Warriors in the city with the barracks. The city did have the strategic resource of iron.

I may or may not have had enough gold, but in the past it used to tell me that I required more gold to perform the upgrade.

Is this a real problem or am I missing something?

Upgrading to Legions is working for me. Am I remembering incorrectly, or did the upgrade icon not show up if you didn't have the gold with 1.17

You are ADDING something. It didn't tell you before. If you don't have enough you don't get the icon. Perhaps the U hotkey told you but I never use that. I do use SHIFT-U but then I know that I have lots of money even if it isn't enough.

How much money do you have? I think its 40 each for warriors to swordsmen. Its a steep upgrade for the Ancient Era.

I've seen something similar with warriors not upgrading with default 1.17. I was surprised that I couldnt, but carried on the game thinking my memory was faulty. I'm not sure why it didnt work but it does with default 1.21
