Red Front/2nd front
Has anybody here played the 2nd front or Red front scenarios for civ2 by Captain Nemo? They are absolutey the best WW2 scenarios I have ever played, and I would love to see something very similar for CTP2. In fact I'm thinking of beginning work on something similar. I don't have much free time right now, but I would like to hear any suggestions from people that have played those scenarios, or have ideas for a normandy or russian front WW2 scenario. If I can get the details squared away now, perhaps I can begin work this summer.

Red Front is the best Civ2 WWII scenario I gave played.

It would be interesting to have more WWII scenarios designed like Red Front: playable for one country only, like:

1) The whole Pacific War (playable as USA);

2) Battle of the Bulge (playable as USA);

3) Battle of Britain (playable as Britain);

4) Battle of Kursk (playable as Germany);

etc. . .

These scenarios would have a super-aggressive AI, etc. . .

Absolutely, all of those are excellant suggestions, it would be nice to create a rather ambitious scenario pack that would include several of the different battles. I'm not very experienced with modding CTP2, so I'm currently looking into how well different seasons would work with CTP2. As you know, with a Barbarossa scenario in particular, weather is a major factor.

By the way, have you played Nemo's 2nd front? it's as good if not better then red front. The guy was an artist with Civ2 WW2 scenarios.

I did play Second Front. But I believe Nemo made it especially for Fantastic Worlds and not for the MGE, so you can't see the German units move or attack. . . and I lost interest after a while.

But I agree that Nemo was a pioneer in this area. I think if anyone is going to do similar scenarios for CTP2, then a study of what he did, especially in Red Front, would be very important.

It would also be interesting to play a Pacific War scenario as the Japanese starting in January 1942. Everything could be setup as it existed at that time.

The USA could be given events and a super-aggressive AI. With Dale's work on better naval scripting, this might prove to be a highly enjoyable scenario. . .
