shau_chi@yahoo.com - please
my earlier comment was just about the vagaries of being able to make a legal case on copyright infringement and such.

Vel: Thanks for the delivery. I'll look at it later tonight. I just have to ask one question though. Given your background in writing, what did you think of the script, assuming that it was legit of course?

My pleasure, DD! As to the script....IF it's legit, then I do worry 'bout the dialogue. I read somewhere that the movie's title was an expression/reflection of the cheesy sci-fi films of the 70's, and if that's accurate and the script is real, then apparently they've expanded that expression/reflection to include some of the dialogue too, especially in conversations between Obi-Wan and Anakin. I've not yet finished reading the script yet (about half through it so far), but there have been places where I found myself longing for the somewhat stiff and stilted dialogue of Phantom Menace...UGH!
Nonetheless, the story is pretty solid...fast pace, some great battles....my imagination was working overtime picturing it all....should be a visually stunning movie, but then, with Lucas' veterans working on it, anything less than that would be a disappointment.
Another downer....halfway thru this script, and Jar Jar's still breathing...LOL
All in all, from what I've read so far, I'm not expecting a show stopper....can't say I'd camp out the night before the opener for tickets, or even stand in line on opening day, but I'll go see it....

Vel, I thought it was very cool! I mean, dialogue has never been that good in any of the SW movies, but a fast pased and interesting story.
Jar Jar might still be breathing, but it seems he speaks more in English than in Gungan speech, refreshing indeed!
And I can't wait to see the that last lightsaber fight, what a doozy to read it!

I need to know the size of it first, Vel!
About Jar Jar:
(sigh)
Lucas is really pushing a lot in this pseudo-replacement of the Han-Chewie comic combo.

Hey guys....just back from an evening out....unfortunately, I have my copy of the script at work, but forgot to mail a copy to myself here at the house, so I'll mail a copy to everyone who's requested it as soon as I hit the office tomorrow!
And by the way....thanks for the on the strategy guide! Who knows, patch 1.21f actually looked pretty promising, and it's been getting good reviews from the playing community....if that holds, and an additional patch or two follows, there might yet be a possibility of a Civ3-Strat guide...
Anyway, will hit the mailings from the office first thing! (even before doing any work related stuff! See how you guys rate??! ---erm...just don't tell my boss! LOL

Uh oh. Last time I remember a script being leaked, the Romulans ended up transformed into the Klingons with cloaked ships ...
Are you sure this is abandoned Vel?

Dunno Rav....I got it from what I'd consider a reputable source, but he could not tell me for certain if it was legit. I do know that it was derived from a scanned copy, and then run through an OCR to convert to text (thus, some of the strange charaters in the document).
But beyond that, details are sketchy....a good mystery, methinks....

It took me 2 minuttes to find the script on the web, so you don't have to wait for Velociryx .

Interesting... this script seems to be an EARLY screenplay.
http://www.msnbc.com/news/741646.asp
Quote:
|
Lucas even experimented with giving Jar Jar an excuse to drop his annoying (and, to some ears, offensive) “meesa eesa” patois. In the early draft of the screenplay, Jar Jar claims to have learned a prim and proper accent for use in the presence of senators. Word is, Lucas ultimately dumped the idea—too contrived, perhaps—but, hey, at least he considered it.
|
But at least it gives us a look at the basic outlines of the story.
