Courageous of you to tell us, gopher. You may have cast the last vote, and hence be alternately cursed and praised for a month to come!

Experience or new blood, that is the question.
If experience seems to be an inevitable way for a President, for advisors, who are not in frontline of the game as the President is, the choice is more open : don't forget, in a democracy, a vital question is : How to widen the base of the citizens taking share to the public life?

Ever heard about a type of government called Oligarchy?
Not that I don't give credit to Gramphos, but experience is not everything in anything whatsoever!

As we approach the final hours of a close election, I strongly advise the candidates to use PM campaigns to non-voting citizens.
Get out the vote!

Nah, I'm not using PM's, that's to low.
If I lose I lose, and will probably retire for good. Oterwise I'll be a minister for a month, and then retire.

I really just want to see bigger vote totals...
If you're really planning to leave public office, Gramphos, let me just take a moment to thank you for your contributions to the Democracy Game, and express my hope that you'll still participate in polls and such when you can.

Well, I don't have mush choose. I'll be here until mid June, bnut after that my activity will go down for some time. I'll try to visit as mush as possible, but I'm not yet sure on how often that is. However, I don't want a position then.

Perhaps they are abstaining from voting on that race, which is their right.

And if they didn't read our goals, views, speeches, etc, etc, then I wouldn't want them voting - we already have enough folks who always vote republican, or always vote democratic, and don't read the candidate's positions before voting, etc, in the USA. We wouldn't want that here as well.

THere is no "apolyton time." You can set your own time setting and that is the time that is shown for you.

<< Ovation for ixnay >> Well done! I thought for a while the odds were against you, ixnay, but somehow you pulled through in the last hours! Most exciting thing since Wrestlemania.
Gramphos - sorry to hear you aren't considering standing again. I hope that you can hang around and offer your sage-like advice to all us newbies to office. Your priceless contribution will be remembered. (That's supposed to be a salute.)

As I said I've no plans to run for a position again. At least not for a year. I'll try to visit the forums as mush as possible, but I still don't know how internet access will be for the next year.
So, in conclution I retire from this game, as I doubt it will last a year
I'll still be a citizen, but it might turn out that I don't visit very often, and posting might be even more limited.
It's been a great time serving Apolytonia, and I hope to be able to run for a position in a later game some time.

I hope to see this place earlier, in weekends, and hopefuly also some days. The biggest problem is that I know nothing of what's waiting me.
