I only meant it would slow down cleanup on all pollution regardless of its' cause - not just pollution from a Chernobylistic incident.

The Hoover Dam acts as a hydro plant in every eligable city, but does it give any production bonus in cities that cannot ordinarily build hydro plants because they have no water in their city radius?

Hoover Dam count as a hydro plant in EVERY city of the same continent, regardless if they are normally able to produce a hydro plant or not.

hi ,

hmmm , however the hover dam gives you a hydro plant in every city , even if no rivers are around , ......lol ,

tip; land that falls not under your city limits , but in your boundery , plant fores on it , it seems to reduce polution in general as well , also , "this forest changed because of globalwarming" tendes to be less .

have a nice day

Re: Hoover Dam -- "wipe that 'LOL' off your face -- that's how Hoover Dam really works, by providing power to a substantial portion of the whole country (though not to the whole continent). No rivers required, except for the dam. [from a Las Vegas native]

Forests reduce pollution?? How Ecologically Correct!!

... or at least the production enhancement of it!
25% production boost to cities with factory, at no maintenance cost.
Hoover is definitely a 'Wonder' to behold (and to have)!

That's +50% boost, not +25%.

Yes there is, the hydro electric plant is THE HOOVER DAM ! Yes it does say that there is a hydro plant in the city. So what? The Hoover dam is just a really big hydro plant.

I had said: 25% production boost to cities with factory

I was basing it on the 'statistic' that Factories and Hydro Plants give the same boost in production, and that my gross production in a 60-shield city increased to 75 shields when my Hoover was completed.

However, I just did a count, and my cities with Factories (on my only continent) now have double their basic value, so obviously I was mistaken. It has been SOooo long since I've been looking at documentation. Too busy playing anymore to look at it....

A factory, a power plant and a manufacturing plant each give +50 % prod to the city. If there is more than one at the same place, you just have to add the bonuses together to have the final bonus.
So, if you build a factory and a man. plant in a city that produce 25 shields, and you have the Hoover Dam on the same continent, the city will end up producing 25 + 150 % => 72 shields.

Hope it helped

Sure you have. Anytime you have about twice as many as you need and have no idea what to do w/em, or when their running around gives you a headache and takes a minute or two, or when mobs of them follow your armies around just in case you need to build a 1 turn fortification even though you know you really won't be doing that but do it anyway just for the hell of it.....you've got a buzillion workers.
