well, actually there could be a problem since I'm the password holder you see...... better to find a neutral player.

hey kh2, can u post the game details in the first post, cuz when i posted the replacements needed thread, i realized we didn't have that. it'd be nice to have the turn order and settings there, for people to see.

the thing is that I wasn't in this from the beginning. I was asked if I could hold the password somewhere after ahile. I belive Claw919 is the actual creator of this game (and he is also in it).
order of play would however be the traditional SMAC order.

Here's the extensive ruleset. Get your buffers ready:
---
- Huge map (random)
- Accellerated Start
- Blind Research OFF
- NO Steal tech when conquer
- Normal lifeforms
And the 'regular' AC multiplayer rules, including "no contact until you meet", etc.
---
That's pretty much it. The "regular" rules are the anti-cheat rules and similar things in the Apolyton tournament rulesets (things like behaviour you need to follow when failed probes, etc, etc, etc).
Sorry for the slow response times - my daughter's baptism was this past weekend.

Is Hive still free? I really would like to play with em.
Here are some familiar faces from the "red planed" -game
I am reading this thread now. Looks like you guys had a problematic start in here.

Hive's been taken by KK, but it looks like the Peacekeepers are going to become free very shortly. (Chaunk - have you had any further thoughts on this?)
Problematic start - yes. I blame myself, actually. Back in the heydays (Warning: Nostalgia and grumpy old man mode approaching)... you could start a game and say "I want players" and accept everyone who came along, knowing there was a good chance they'd stick the game out.
Now, because the scene is really sharply divided between people who have been playing a LONG time and people who found the game in the $8.99 bin at Blockbuster, you get people who take on 10 games at a time and then lose interest.
Actually, I blame those people, not myself.

Claw, how can KK take Hive when he's already playing the Spartans??!
You gotta find a way to keep your games straight!

Ahh. In this " http://apolyton.net/forums/showthrea...threadid=55925 " -thread I saw "2 Replacements Needed for SMAC PBEM (Hive and Pks) " -text. That is just 12 hours old, so when did KK took em?
I was looking for a Hive, but perhaps peacekeepers would be fine too. Though I have actually never played with them, but this only means that you would have some chance to survive

Fromage as Hive is fine with me. DilithiumDad posted in the replacement thread about taking the PK. That would be delightful!
At the risk of sounding like I'm trying to give Chaunk the boot, the PK replacement shoould take place ASAP, out of fairness to DD.

Been good playing with you guys, I'm just sorry I had to leave before the end

been great playing with ya chaunk.
glad we found 2 replacements.
could someone edit the first post, or second post or whatever, so we have everyone's email listed there in turn order? would really help, if we needed another replacement.
thanks.
p.s. to DD, i'm pretty sure this game is no stockpile in the queue as well. fyi.

Great. I really love playing with Hive. Though accelerated start propably hurts them a bit, but at least it won't be too easy
Already waiting for my turn here

smhfan86, no stockpiling? Any other different rules than in red planet?
Chaunk needs to be replaced soon in Red planet too. Any of you would like to come there? I think that already 3/7 of the players are the same than in this game. You would see familiar faces in there

fyi, tech rates for everyone are horrible, because of the accelerated start. don't think you're alone on that.
i'm guessing, there's no retro-engineering either. the fact is, red planet is the only game in which i play that allows stockpiling in queues and retro.

I didn't worry about tech rates. It's just really easy to expand with Hive in early years and my Hive usually covers 50% of the planet, before others even get their production up
Hmm, retro-engineering shouldn't be allowed in red planet? Anyway, I can live without stockpiling in queues, it has just been on my other games.

2199 to university.
In year 2199 there was a revolution in Hive community. Our people found out that our old leader IceCube was totally insane and he had ruined the whole nation. Chairman IceCube was found guilty in treason and he was sentenced to 275 years imprisonment in hard labour. IMHO that wasn't enough for ruining the glorious Hive community.
Today wise and noble chairman Fromage is the new leader of smoking ruins of the Hive. Millions of drones look up to him and hope that it isn't too late to save Hive from total anhilation.

Do I gather correctly that SinMan has received the same years' turn from both Fromage and Knowhow2? If so, he must take care to use the one from Fromage, no?

Okay, I sent Sin Man a note to play Fromage's turn instead of KH2's. Hopefully he'll read it before playing, especially since I stated that in the subject heading.
Oh, and Mongoose, remember to send your turn to DD, not Chaunk. I know you are rather busy with your worshipping and bible thumping, therefore, I just wanted to make sure you had your head out of your book long enough to notice.

Kindly reference any prohibition on retroengineering. The only limit on that I am accustomed to seeing or using is against retroengineering the rover chassis from Planetary Networks.

Wrong again, infidel! We don't keep our noses buried in our Bible, we use our Bible to strike the fear of the Lord into strutting non-believers.
One of which you most certainly are...for the time being.
