Invade Rome??? They are our Trade Route gold mine and source of high bonus beakers! We built Citadel to limit their expansion and maintain them as a fountain of benefits.

Rome is our veritable sphere of influence. If we do have a war there, it's going to be over the fact that bananas are illegal...or maybe opium, whichever.

Another policy (MWIA never looked at my pm so I'm saying this without him) is opposing having a president who is too powerful. The independence that shade was notorious from is a good example for this. The president is just there to enforce the will of the people, not necessarily be the top strategist and DEFINITELY not to do things without listening to the people very closely.
Have found (and looked at) your PM civman2000 - sorry, but I missed it in the sudden stream of 10 or so that I got within three days.

Our party is not against rules, per se - we need guidelines to tell us who is responsible for what, and how (more or less) we play the game. One of these rules is (from my researches also from a poll waaay back in the mists of the history of Apolytonia) that the President is an enforcer of the will of the people, and he does not take major decisions without polling.

And civman, I think shade's wars with various nations is more a result of them attacking us after shade (rightfully) denied them tribute rather than as any direct malicious intention from the President of the time towards our neighbour civs (I think shade has learned to CONTROL his maliciousness ).

Our party's idea is that most things are decided upon as the issue arises, and by the people. We oppose strongly any dictators, however benevolent they may be - although I have yet to see evidence of this kind of behaviour from Ministers/Presidents. A constitution of sorts is OK, but a STRICT constitution will bind us, and in a volatile world like this we must be prepared to change tactics quickly, lest we perish.

The AAAC - Power to the People, Responsiveness to Change.

As MWIA said, power to the people is one of the most important ideas of the AAAC. I oppose a constitution because I think not having one would be the best way to ensure the people's power.

Join the UNPARTY and become a member of a non-group of independents to be reckoned with. Together, we can thwart the division of Apolytonia into fallible fractious factions of schism and anarchy!

Our motto: "Disce Aut Morere"

Our flag: A group of independent cats (several kinds) moving together (on a field of blue).

Join now. Be prepared to vote early and often!

To the leaders of all our new political parties --
You Are Just Being Silly!

Your Historian declares himself a True Independent and will not affiliate himself with those who would presume to direct my votes.

While I am on the record as a supporter of the Marquis I cannot in good conscience accept any leader *except* our current President.

While my political philosphy is most in allignment with cavebear's, I can't help but think that an UNPARTY Party is like a religion of atheists.
So that's out.

I say, our strength is in the individual ideas of our ppl!!
I say, those who subvert their thoughts to the wills of others are as sheep to the slaughter!!
I say, PPL, Let Us Be Unfettered by Party Politics!
I say, Live Free or Die!!!

Political Parties = :

Your heavy use of smilies may make people think you really are a sodaquista.

Agreed, it is very silly - but still fun. I don't care if I'm the only sodaquista, as long as it provides a few smiles for everybody in the forum.

hmm this is the first time I even visit this thread(I might take a look at the firts page in a few days)...the idea of parties, the sheer terror...

*steps up to microphone and starts a speech*
Political parties...who are they, where do they come from,How do they live and what do they do? (-P.Jambers -)

I consider myself entirely independed,I'll think for myself without the voice of any party wispering in my ears.

How can a country become great if the citizens follow just 2 or 3 leaders and act like sheep with no mind of their own, When they fight among oneanother because the leaders hold a grudge.

If you want to win ellection you should not trust and hope for your party because then they will be the ones in charge not you.So when you want to get ellected and opposition is tough just hire some of MdS's freelance assasins, they do marvelous jobs.

*steps back and leaves the stage*

Our party stance on the Constitution Issue is that we should have a limited constitution to prevent problems from arising, but not an overly complicated one. We believe the Constitution is necessary to prevent our Great Civilization from falling into anarchy.

And we use terms like "Great Civilization" and "the People."

Shade, we are of like mind.

Let us all arrive independently at the same brilliant conclusion. It is the nature of the democratic process.

Political parties = a Republic. -- not a Democracy!
