AI takin over????
Strangest thing happened tonight.

In the diplogame, someone dropped, the next turn, he rejoined and I bought lighthouse.

Then something weird happens, the AI takes over my civ and lets me watch my units movewhile it DOESNT build lighthouse.

I quit and rejoin, hoping to get my civ and shields back, but the only thing I see is the 'waiting for AI and other players to end turn' message, and my archer moving

Can anyone tell me wtf happened?

At the time a player drops AI is taking over that civ. At rejoin you are waiting to your turn, propably had the AI start moving and you could see the end of his turn in the rejoin... Next time the turns comes to your civ you will control it.

We've seen something very close. When the rejoining player selected the wrong civ. (which he should not be able to do but was able) or when someone new tries to join a full game. (which you should also no be able to do but sometimes you can)
This sometimes causes a player to be bounced and reconnected. The host machine get's confused.

It is rare.

I've run into it a couple of times. You get bumped from the game, rejoin, and when your turn comes, you sit powerless and helpless as your civ is operated by the computer. And it will keep going - turn after turn - until you quit out and go back in again. In fact, I recall quitting out, coming back in again, and striking the same thing. Requiring another quit out. Really, really weird sensation. Akin to an out of body experience, I expect.

While we're on weird, I still think the most bizarre thing I've seen is a player building a unit in his city only to have it appear in his city as an entirely different unit AND BELONGING TO ANOTHER CIV. You can't move the unit, just disband it. Seen it happen twice.

I have had this happen to me, throwing things at the screen does not stop the AI doing really stupid things to your civ right before your eyes.

Well, it was a learning experience, I've found out now that a glass of coke can really ruin your keyboard
