Greetings! I will be replacing Zergling, I downloaded his turn and I am awaiting the password from Tau Ceti.
Its rather ironic I am playing Diedre in two games and Morgan in zero, when I am a Morgan devotee... gotta love the money
Anyways if there has been combat between me and any of you could you please email me and tell me when and where that combat occurred? That is the sort of thing that I can't easily tell just by looking around at the game.

This may be unfortunate. Xeno has been missing for over a month. It's possible Z passed the turn to him some time ago.

Argh I tried opening the save file when I intended to open the save file for another game.
I still am waiting for the password. When I do pass the turn on ya'all will get a tampering message.

Good point - you will certainly need a replacement for xeno. But you have heard nothing from zergling_zzh either, so you are sure he is gone too? I will hold the password pending replies.

Z posted at CGN today withdrawing form all but one or two of his games there. I emailed him after I posted that post you quote, TC, calling his attention to the replacement sought thread. His reply:
I post replacement notices for other smac pbem games. I am tired to frenquectly check the bbs.
So I don't know who hold the turn, But I play every turn soon after I receive it.
Anyway the cgn9 is my last smac pbem game.
I gather it's safe to replace him in this game after all.
Sorry to intrude.

I got a cost of 32 EC for SE change... the difference between thinker and the easiest difficulty level (citizen I think?) is HUGE... we had best fix this.

The game is supposed to be at Transcend, no? SE change should cost 40 ec.

Sad to say it, guys, but this game is doomed. It has been hit by the different diffculty levels bug that sometimes affects scenarios (well, always, unless you take steps to avoid it). knowhow2 is on Transcend, JPJ and zergling on Librarian and xeno on, uh, sub-Citizen - the difficulty level is apparently negative. Lots of interesting twists with the last one - you get cash for changing SE, worms have an attack strength of 0.00, tutorial hints are on, and I suspect that you do not lose population by building CPs in a size 1 city and that the first 7 citizens will be content.
Quite unplayable as a serious competitive game, of course. Unfortunately there is nothing that can be done to fix this once the game is started, so I fear it must simply be abandoned. I can make you a new game after the weekend (going away for a couple of days) if you want.
(Oh, the mentioned step to avoid it is setting the "Force current difficulty level" flag in the scenario rules. It is not 100% certain, and seems to depend somewhat on the timing. I usually double check to see if things work properly, but must have forgotten to do so in this case. )
