Why aren't you B!itching about the ME threads then?
That should be used ONLY for Windows ME, by your reasoning.

I have really wanted to, but they're too few and far between, not mucking up half a forum page. They're also about more serious topics, and Windows ME sucks and wasn't an across the board name change like XP for Windows and Office. Also, ME doesn't conjure up thoughts of Windows like XP does. I can walk into a room and ME sucks, and they won't know what I'm talking about, but the opposite is true for XP.

Why expend so much of your limited mental capacity fretting so much about a silly abbreviation? Shouldn't you be using those brain cells to remember breathing in and out regularly?

Is it a spamfest because you're wrong about your choice of words, ixnay?

Good to see you can tolerate some things, like my remark.
How about applying that power to tolerating the use of XP to mean Expansion Pack?

Nope, not tolerating XP = expansion pack. Damn, I've typed XP so many times and I'm still thinking of Windows.
Why not switch to PW? No one's gonna think you're talking about a password or anything.
Sleepy, no, I haven't. What else does AMD stand for?

Why are you so concerned about how stupid other people look? I really don't care how anyone abbreviates it as long as the context is clear...

Ixnay, that's just it, the context is fuzzy. Not only that, XP has never been widley used to mean "expansion pack." No one as admitted this fact. Furthermore, you would never see any actual publication refer to a piece of software now by the name "XP," if it weren't in fact Windows or Office XP.
Sleepy, I knew that already. What does AMD stand for besides Advanced Microdevices or whatever.

Can one spam spam? I think not. This thread will be dealt with by a Mod shortly. Better get as many of your spam posts in as you want to first.
Call the XP whatever you like. Realize others have the freedom to call it what they like. If you don't like that, then just go home and please please please shut up about it.

When people are talking about "what civs will be in the XP" and "will they add new governments in the XP" it's INCREDIBLY FREAKING OBVIOUS that they're not talking about WinXP.

I have not yet once, ever, mistaken XP meaning expansion pack for Windows XP. Only a moron would do that. Did YOU do that, Eroberer? It would make sense if you did...

shouldn't you be spamming the AMD boards? their use of the letters XP is much more egregious than this.
Or shouldn't you be spamming the microsoft board, as they stole the XP from Seattles' EMP, eXPerience Music Project, which in turn stole their name from The Jimi Hendrix eXPerience?

Now I just wanted to say a few things about the XP, the XP being Infogrames and Firaxis upcoming XP, and not the XP for another game. XP's in general are ok, Firaxis(if what gamespot posted about the XP is true) have said that the XP will include 8 more civs and mulitplayer making it a worthwhile XP. That said about the civ XP, has anyone heard of any other upcoming XPs?

Boris, you're still typing simultaneously not making any point. It appears you've mastered the art. But please please please stop spamming.
Ixnay, there are just as many sentences where it is not obvious as when it can be obvious. Bottom line is you should think of another abbreviation.
Sleepy, were you really just trying not to make a point?

One must conclude one of two things:
1) Eroberer is employed by Microsoft to hunt down possible copywright violations, hence his getting all Naziesque over the use of XP.
2) Eroberer is one of my above-described morons who confused XP for Windows XP. He spent hours wracking his addled little mind about what people could possibly mean. Then, upon finally figuring it out, he grew so angry at having his mental faculties taxed so much that he decided to lash out in a hysterical hissy-fit here on the Apolyton website, preserved for all posterity.
Door number 1 or 2?
