peope who self-publish...
do so because they can't get their books in to real publishers. They want to call themselves authors. But they're not.

It bears repeating...
=======================================
Who give a rat's @ss what loserboy TCO thinks about our progress.
He continually comes in here in a stupid attempt to bring some sort of validation to his meaningless existance - a sad cry for attention to his lonely, bitter, and ultimately pathetic life.
Oh, oh...please notice me and my opinions CB team. Because no-one else ever does.

He's "working" with the admins.
He suggested this forum be disbanded, and the admin ignored.

Nice to see you again, TCO.
I'm afraid I can't add much more to what's already been said.
You WANTED an inside look. You WANTED something tangible, and when it's offered...you refuse.
I'm afraid I can do no more than that, but I'll tell you something....since you're so sure the books are going to suck, why not take 30 minutes or so and give them a glance?
This way, you can come back here and post some real MEATY reasons why we suck so bad....I mean...we're offering you the bullets to shoot us in the head with!
How can you possibly turn that down?
Unless.....
you're afraid you might actually like them?
Now wouldn't that be something?

Yep. You're right TCO. Nobody could possibly write for the sheer love of doing so.
And nothing anybody writes is worth a tinker's damn unless some publishing mogul in NYC says so, and gives his blessing and benediction over it first, right?
That's rather akin to saying that no business that started in a garage ever amounted to anything, and....if you discount Apple, Microsoft, and a few hundred others...if you pretend those don't exist, then reality meshes exactly with your world view!
Carry on!

Ahhh yes.
You read a blog, and now, of course, you're an expert.
But we're not talking about the blog, are we? (I've read it too, btw...interesting).
We're talking about using your own little noggin to read something new and original, and formulate your very own opinion on it.
We're talking about offering you exactly what you've been wanting (or at least, what you claim to have been wanting), only to have it refused.
What are you afraid of? Inquiring minds wanna know!
Turning down the bullets to shoot us down...that takes the cake!

Anyway, you think it over, and while you're doing that, I'm going to go off and do some more of the work that doesn't matter.
You know...working with members of the team to move the project forward and all that.
It must KILL you that we're still here.

Thank you for the link.
A question tho....what does that have to do with YOUR opinons?
With taking half an hour out of your day to form an opinion of your own?
Are you so scared you might actually like what you see that you'll have to eat a little crow, so instead of giving it a go, you are reduced to scampering over the 'net to find links to toss out there?
To quote another 'polytoner.....
Unbelievable!

Vel: If it's any good, you can GET IT PUBLISHED. You're living in dream world. You self publish. You waste your money. You build this crappy game. It's a mess. Look at the real world in the face.

I'm offering you the chance to prove that.
To me. To everyone.
The book is ready.
I can send it to you right now.
You can read it and then rip it to shreds for all the world to see.
Bullets for the gun.
But you're not.
Why is that?
That's my question.
The offer is a standing one.
Have you the courage to take it, or would you rather continue baseless attacks? (see...what we're offering you is the ability to make fact based attacks, instead of just spouting off...that's good stuff!)

But that doesn't change the fact that we are still here.

c'mon man...after all this time, this should be like a wet dream for you!
The chance to get ahold of something tangible from the project and rip it to pieces.
What a coup!

Standing offer.
Up to this point, every critisism you have levelled against us has been conceptually based.
As of this offer, you have the chance to sink your teeth into some of the meat of the project. Some of the actual output.
No longer will it just be TCO railing about this or that intangible thing.
No sir.
NOW it'll be about TCO with a copy of book I in his hands, ripping it to pieces.
Actual output and tangible bullets.
To refuse the offer...to remain in the galley hurling taunts and insults that you whip up out of thin air when you are OFFERED the gun and the bullets seems to point to the notion that you lack the courage of your convictions.
IF we suck, you can have proof of that in your hands in very short order.
You can point to specific reasons why we suck, and use our own output against us.
As this project's most vocal critic from day one, that offer has to have some attraction, and yet you hesitate.
Why?
When you're finally being offered that which you have asked for and the ability to tear us down in ways you've never before been able to, for lack of access.
-=Vel=-
EDIT: Then again, it is possible that we just might surprise you...that you might actually wind up enjoying it.
Just a thought.

But calling me a fool here in public is okay?
LOL
TCO...in case you've not gotten the point yet...I have pretty thick skin.
I daresay that whatever your opinions on the book might be, I've heard worse.
A thin skinned person would have run screaming for the hills at the very IDEA of this project.
So...I appreciate the offer to be kind to my tender feelings, but set that aside for the moment, and let's talk turkey.
What's REALLY keeping you from taking us up on the offer?

Good forum.
I will prolly lurk some there.
And I get that you're tough to please.
The offer still stands tho.
Ball bounces back to your side of the court, and I'm gonna go cook something for dinner.

Heh...oh man I wish I could! We got a GREAT little "hole in the wall" place about a mile from the house.
Love their stuff!
Christina and I ate there yesterday, so today was steaks on the grill....I know I'm not supposed to (definitely NOT on the heart healthy diet), but wow....that's good stuff).
