And just to let people know that work is going on, here is a pic that I executed today for the book portion of the project...

Just want to stop by and express (sp?) my respect for you guys' endurance (if that word can be used in this context?) and attitude on this project.
Great work indeed!
Wishing you the very, very best on the health, Vel (and, well, on pretty much everything else )
Regards
Nikolaj

Thank you! I'm still basically homeless at present (living out of my uncle's spare room), but working on getting the old house up for sale, and the new one in place here in Atlanta....once I have a real bed to sleep in again, I suspect things will be a bit smoother.

EDIT: TCO, I merged all your threads into one, so we could have all your words of wisdom collected in one place. This is part of my ongoing cleanup effort.

I was not aware that we were on a timetable.
Who set this timetable? And when?
(and when was somebody gonna tell me!?)

Admit it TCO, you just like being a naysayer And you're probably hoping this fails so you can say you were right.

I'm already proved right. It's not that I want him to fail. It's that he is so obvious about his silliness. He did not even listen to the other fellows who advised on othjer game development experiences. ANd he had all kinds of silliness about book tie-ins and the like.

Let's see now....let me make sure I'm following the argument.
You are proved right because:
* We haven't produced a game according to your timetable (point of clarification if you please...is it yours, specifically, or ANY arbitrary timetable)
* We have gone about our business a bit differently than you would have
* We are still here, and still making progress, long after you figured we would have died out
Intriguing.

You will be proven right if and when there is no one working on this and the idea gets abandoned. And I've been saying since day one that won't happen.

Then I must congratulate you on being more informed than the project's leader, as well as the project's art & programming guys.
And yeah, I remember the stuff you posted in this forum back when it all started.

Indeed.
Perhaps we should pack it in, Solver...I had no idea it was a graveyard.
Does that make us...Zombies?

Hmmmm...
Two novels done, the third about 70% done, a series of short story prequels done...public release of all written works when the last novel is finished.
...who gives a rat's @ss what you think, loserboy.

A dream world? Yes. I think that's fair...just not in the way you mean it.
As to the books...why on earth would I want to play the publisher's game? Surrender the rights to my work for a measley 6-8%? Meh...no thanks. There are better ways.
At any rate...we'll find out, won't we?
-=Vel=-
(actually, my suspicion is this: TCO's game is that if we quit, he'll crow about being right from the start, and if we succeed, he'll wink and nod and tell everyone that it was only by virtue of his constant goading...that it was all part of some master plan....)
