Why Colonization game after succesfull revolution looks a little bugy
After you win game, you can continue playing

But it all looks like some sort of editor is tuened on. (you can in europe for your enemyies, and see chace production in their colonies)

Europians Man-o-War are wandering aimlessly

Other foreingn colonists have been stopped in time.

You can't build new colonies

And several other things.

Pretty stange.

Yeah, well the game wasn't MEANT to be played post-win. It's just for those who want to see their new Empire grow, I guess. Think of it as a "Practice" or "Demo" mode where you can snoop around, but since you've won, there isn't really anything to aim for any more.

Re: Why Colonization game after succesfull revolution looks a little bugy
1. Europians Man-o-War are wandering aimlessly
2. Other foreingn colonists have been stopped in time.
3. You can't build new colonies.

1. They can't find their way home?

2. Frustrated about the fact that they can't become the USA, they go on strike?

3. They would be quite defenseless, and thus your previous country would attack them straight away. So, nobody wants to colonize anymore?

These are just guesses, so don't blame me if you start telling these as truths, and people laugh at you.

My personal theory is that they never intended to make game playable after the win, but have turned ON that option anyway (maybe that game was rushed too, like Civ3).

Hey, do you know why colonzation colonies have city raduus of 1, and not 2?

This was in an old review.

2 weeks before game gone gold, they decided to chage to 1 tile rfadius, to make cities more spcialized.

And there is one relic in game to prove that:
Fish which is 2 tiles away of shore.

Player1: you answered your own question: To make cities more specialized.

And I like it a lot that way.

I agree, if there was a two tile radius, jeez, how many citizens could that support? 60, 75? and possibly have every type of good. one city would be enough for just about any game.

Noticed the same, therefore never play post-win... I mean you can't even attack other cols anymore because the game thinks you're still in revolution status... can't do anything actually

I never relly liked the revolution phase. I usually stopped when ready for the revolution. I mean: 25+ turns defending your post cities over and over isn't that funny. One big army invading the colonies would have been more fun.

I personally never had any big colonial empires to defend in revolution. Just one or 2, maybe 3 port cities, that's it. But then I never played anything harder than ... 2nd difficulty level

How are those levels called in English?

I never play post-win. But I did once, and I found that indeed you could access the ports of every European power.

There were still remnants of the Royal Expeditionary force who continued their war against me, even though the king surrendered to us.

But that's about it, since I only ever did it once.

I usually tried to get as much money as I could post-revolution. There wasn't anything else to do, but I spent all that time making profitable colonies and building fortressess and I just wanted to keep the dream alive.

But it's good it doesn't just...end. Then you get to take a good look at all your work.
