The Greatest News of All

Complete game editor and scenario support, including feudal Japan and World War II unit packs, that will allow players to create scenarios from any time period.
|
Sorry to gloat in a new thread, but for some, this is what we have been waiting for all along. Imagine that, by Fall 2002, I and others (including those waiting for MP) will actually start playing Civ3. Thank you Firaxis for keeping your promise!

I'm Definitely looking forward to the scenario editor, as long as events and user created units can be used.

Yes, the whole XP seems very promising! I love Civ! (who here doesn't... No, I didn't count the whining newbees... )
(Sorry, couldn't resist! )
BTW, Steve: If you don't play Civ3, what are you doing in these forums?
Oh, I'm exited! I hope it lasts!

Ah, but that's the difference. Whereas with the needlessly complex regular game you need it to be fairly polished. But with scenarios, all one needs is just the barebones structure (and a very robust editor/events file), then my friends like Paul Cullivan (Kull), Capt Nemo, Shay and many other Civ2 Scenario HOFers can (hopefully) make elaborate, historically accurate and diverse scenarios. If it take one more year to make that happen, so be it. That's how long Civ2 took before we got really good custom scenarios...and the wait was well worth it because many, including me, are still playing Civ2 scenarios to this day.

the former.
I don't see why you don't want to play retards. Its a good way to get a few easy kills early while learning the MP tricks.
I wouldn't cheat at the game. I want to legitimately kill people. erm, I mean civs.

I agree that Civ3 is much better than civ2 at SP and now that scenarios will be in, makes it a more well rounded game.

I agree although I don't play many scenerios. (I find them boring.) I am very curious about multiple ways to play MP also.

A great game has to evolve. Civ1 was great for it's time and it has evolved nicely. It's so wonderful to see a company which appaars to be dedicated to improving and supporting it into the future. I was worried for awhile when it seemed no one was working on the civ series.
I really appreciate the improved AI in Civ3. Now multiplayer will really be interesting.

Where did you get that Trip? The settings for the game are in the save now. So wouldn't the settings be part of the game on the server for MP?

Oh yes. Murmurs become speculation. Speculations become rumours. Rumours become fact.
