probably... but that won't happen in this place, at least not that easily... BTW, before you get a wrong idea, I'm not being elitist or anything... it just doesn't work out well with everyone

No, it's not about being an elitist. Although I myself get that feeling from time to time I rather like to think of it like being different not better. As for the real subject. There might be a people out there that's worth meeting but your missing out on because of your melancholy.* They don't have to be exacly like you, they might be very different, but they might be worth it.
* a interesting note here is that serious and long lasting melancholy in the past was thought to lead to lykantrophy (as from latin for wolf and man). Thus Hesse's Steppenwolf

I know, and I know such people... but then they'r enot the kind to go out regularly either... besides, there's not a lot to do as in "going out and socialising", but pubbing or clubbing in the evenings... and that cost money

they realize I'm there, then look away. As in "go away, perv!". every single one.
Because you expect them to do so and you're probably wearing sneakers, jeans and a t-shirt and giving a general image of sexual insecurity. They're shallow as hell, so the real question is - why even bother approaching them - why is this reaction relevant? What do you want from them? It's the wrong enviroment for one-night-stands and they sure aren't competent to discuss Hesse either.
Join a party, a grassroot organization, get involved in some cause, use the Internet to seek out people in your local area. The trick is that you move around social circles of people with common interests so there's never any ackward silence.

Well I have started going out to clubs on my own, I find it can be quite helpful in certain situations where you feel more compelled to talk to other people rather than stick in your group.
All I can say is Andy is to relax, but often, none of the advice is any good when you don't know how to implement it or act upon it. It takes a lot of courage and determination, and I feel things are improving slowly, but no amount of people telling you what to do is going to help unless you can do things yourself. You need a change of scenery, like I need a change of scenery. But sometimes you doubt whether even this will help. So just keep going, there is nothing wrong with a pint now and again, damn I seem to drink enough lately.
So just hope for the best, you are only young yet, look at the mistakes and misjudgements I have made through my life and try and learn what has taken me almost a decade to figure out, and then I still have some way to go.

And that's the problem... I haven't been to a party yet that was only halfway fun like that.. parties in this area (or at least those of friends of mine) tend to be boring parties in small circles... and if there are several of those small circles, they stay separated... so by that, I'd need a big party of something very common... I just don't have any interests like that,

Hormones.
You have loads of them swimming around your head and love spuds at the moment.
They affect your emotions.
When they get out of whack, you get depressed and angsty and whimper on forums. Or write crap poetry.
It'll pass.

After having been turned away by Lucky number 17, the first thing I'm doing later is getting TANKED!!
To hell with sobreity!
Ect, believe me, I feel you're pain. I'm not a virgin, but the only two girls I had sex with was a hooker when I was fifteen and my friend's ex-girlfriend who was a heffer. Cheer up... it COULD be worse....
Meanwhile, I'm going to a club by myself real soon... oh yes! The kind where the girls dance on tables... TOOTLES!

I know this might seem a bit naughty, but drinking that bottle of beer (it was a Radeberger, BTW, a real good one) also had a practical reason - there was nothing left to drink at my place exept for the beer (and the hard stuff, duh), but though I thought it was sort of creepy, since I had never drunk on my own before and always vowed to me not to do it... weekend's not over yet, still no chance to get a drink, feeling thirsty again
nah...

Ah, I still thought 17 sucked. I wasn't gettin' laid then, and I'm not gettin' laid now. It's been a pain in the ass finding friends here... I can't wait to get out of New Jersey. Whatever you people heard about it, it's true! It's all true!
BTW, who's the girl in Zylka's avatar?

What!?! Heresy!!!!
Last friday around three I went to the student pub for a pint or two or three of kilkenny after a hard day in the library (read: I drank coffee and talked with some buddies for 3-4 hours before the pub opened) and the tap was broken I schouted at the poor bartender 'cause they couldn't get it repaired before monday
