aborigenes: a challenge
A few days ago, someone started a thread about the scenario 'Jules Verne' (Fantastic Worlds) telling us that the situation of the civ named 'aborigenes' looked so desperate that he wondered whether it would be possible to win the game playing that civ.
I haven't been able to find out what happened to the thread, but I wish to mention that I have started playing the game (so that people like Xin Yu, DrFell, DrSpike, Marquis de Sodaq or other people interested in that kind of challenge might also have a try if they feel like it).

I have now played the first 7 years and I have the great pleasure to announce that the first Aborigene vet spy is now under building.
We are certainly going to need her, since the Aborigenes start the game with 10 techs, about 40 techs behind the most advanced .
I don't give too many details about the early game, in order not to spoil for anyone. What I can say is that mere survival is the one and only question to solve at the beginning (but I won't tell you what I did ). There are 24 Aborigene small cities spread around the world, none of them able to grow, just as if the builder had been a mad ICSer .
...experienced players required, I suppose, but FUN .

I will start up the scenario soon...
Improbable odds, no hope, no tech, no growth, no gold...

I have played 7 more years, and the Aborigenes are now #3 on the powergraph (still 20 techs behind the most advanced)

1884: game terminated
There is a strong defender in the tiny island of Mu (1 square, 1 city size 1). I just attacked with 15 vet battleships and there is a narrow stripe of red left on the health bar of the defender .
Therefore, the Aborigenes are going to own the world apart from the tiny island of Mu (because I don't feel like spending a few more turns building a fleet of 20+ battleships).

La Fayette - did your delectable diplomats let you down here or is this defender really 20d or something fearsome like that?

SG reminds me of the scene in Top Gun
Maverick: "Holy sh*t! It's viper!"
Goose: "He's probably saying, Holy Sh*t, It's Maverick and Goose!"

The scenario is named 'Jules Verne' ('Fantastic Worlds'). The guidebook states that it is no use trying to play the scenario as the Aborigenes, since they are so late in technology.
This is exactly the kind of challenge we enjoy (like ww2 as Neutral... and the like )

 god save the...
Guess what!
This very precise answer to the question asked by Rah brought me my crown
(Now I won't write again what I wrote the other day, since Debeest explained in the meantime )
Therefore:
(La Fayette, unable to guess what kind of crown he has received, since he has no mirror available)

I started the game, this civ really is in dire straits! I've played about ten turns, but haven't done much more than build some more weak units. I'll slowly continue the march...
