How d00 j00 think MP will affect ur stratz?
How d00 j00 think MP will affect j00r stratz when compared to SP? For example in SP I dont researchez earl33 on coz the AIz can get techz fazter (I playz on deit33). But in MP j00 can't relyz on that coz the other h00man playerz will notz juzt give j00 techz. So j00 will have t00 reserachez j00rself. Alzo in SP I j00ze an earl33 rush stratz, do j00 thinkz that will workz on MP? I thinkz it would not unlezz j00 iz right nexzt t00 j00r opponentz and they goz all out growth (lotz of settz earl33 on weakenz j00 more than it did with civt00). I think the bezt stratz for MP will dependz on the mapz, but in general it will b33 a mixzed stratz, buildinz some unitz but also focuzing on growthz t00, so j00 can b prepared for all outcomez. PPl will max rezearch t00. Either wayz I will j00ze the bezt strat and be 1337.
What d00 j00 all thinkz about MP stratz?

I'll have to go back & play a few unmodded games to get the feel of it again, or write up my mod, post it & hope some people like it enough to want to play it. you're on right now, right?

I would think that if I play people like you I'll make a mad rush to wipe you off the face of the planet as soon as I can.

Although l337 zp33|< annoys me, I-iZ-1337 does have a point hidden in the nonsense. Many players succeed and base their strategies on the fact that the computer players play a certain predictable way (for example, that will trade everything to anyone if you meet their price). I think it would be hilarious if everyone tried the zero tech spending approach in MP. Have hordes of warriors bashing against each other.

exactly.
thats why single player civ3 sucks. you know how the AI plays and can plan around it. with a human opponent, there is someone on the other end tring to outsmart someone who is trying to outsmart him, and so on. human opponens are just so much more strategic in their attacks.
i can see my friend (artillery whore #1) popping off several boats with 40 artillery and some infantry.

Well, if everyone is going to try and rush, I guess I will be diverting more production to defense and counteroffensive and then lose out in some of the early expansion.
But I can't really tell anybody how I'll fight in MP, if I do. That would just give me away.
Of course, I'll try to deviate on my general strategies each game. Try to remain unpredictable. Since there'll be 24 civs to choose from, each with their own UU, there's plenty of potential for an entire archive of strategies both for general use and specific to individual civs the size of a full-length novel.

I've modded the game so much, I'll need to go back to a fresh install and relearn the game mechanics!

i'd but $50 on seeing "no Iroquois" on some MP game titles (ala zone) due to the UU. maybe aztecs too.
imagine a small continental map with those bad boys

Because in Leet speak (aka |337 5|>34|<), you use various symbols instead of regular letters to make up words. For example, the letter e is replaced by the number 3.

I could actually imagine Aztecs being the worst for that out of all civs, if only because their unit is so cheap and so early. You could cripple almost any civ via resource denial and pillaging well before they get a significant number of their UU.

it's for idiot wanna be hackers. they replace symbols or numbers for letters.
PHP Code:
|
1 = L
3 = E
7 = T
so 1337 is LEET which is elite.

If and when I get the XP I will go back to my original style of play RE Civ3.
I used to attempt to research everything myself. I built libraries and marketplaces galore to jump start my economic output. I would carefully consider micromanaging cities by assigning scientist wherever possible. This obviously doesn't work in single play because it is far easier to buy techs.
I-iZ-1337 has a point though regarding humans' reluctance to sell techs to other humans. I will try to trade but won't rely on trading exclusively. Build libraries my friends!
MP sounds like all of our playstyles will have to be changed when confronting human civs and not ai civs.
