If you'd analysed the saves of our game (the one where you quit early) you'd have noticed I was using a ship chain in that. Most the time there's just no need for them though.

Hey, credit where credit's due, I've learned about 80% of my MP skills from 3 people: Bravelaker, Eyes and you.
And this wasnt ment as an attack at all but you were stating you never seen any of these things done by other players witch is not true. I use these things for quite a while now in my games so pay attention the next time we play

How can a newbie learn from a newbie? Talented players who learn from me end up being the best. Look at ROC_Master and drfell. Drfell is by far one of the best players at the moment. Look at atawa and strategicdick...need I say more?

Ill take Atawa in a game verse Dr. Fell any day.
By the way, here is my only save from a recent four way game that was in questioned earlier.
You will see a great ship chain, huge tech lead and a solid defense with good routes allready established.

What you won't see is my 2050bc republic, my crappy island and poor huts. You also won't see how I pulled it all back with my high payoff caravans...

Civ is not a hard equation. Once you are down, the only way to come back in a multi-player game is to unify the world verse the one that was up. Had it not been for a violation of rules, the only player capable of joining an offensive verse me would have been eliminated in 3 turns. Had I known you could have built the great wall, it would have been constructed many turns before as I was paranoid of attacks and it would have made me nearly invulnerable to any attacks.
Once you surrender a huge lead, and your opponenet invests properly, as I did,and you are too far away to make some sort of assult that could make the difference, as u were, and no ones in a position to join you in a crusade, which they were not, you can not come back in a game of civ, the advantage will just grow and grow and grow. By the by, look at all the 1000 resources of city improvements that I have, where he has like 40. I have more routes, more city improvements, more units, more citys. Yeah, guess it was a close game after all.

Lol, this is a 2000bc save. You quit in disgust in 1650bc, at which point you had:
1 - Build no more cities than in your current save (whereas I had built six more, to fill up my island and was preparing to colonise the other islands).
2 - Build no more improvements than a couple barracks (I'd only built a couple temples, but I'd prefer to build caravans anyway).
3 - Researched only a few more techs (vs my 1 tech per caravan etc). Whereas I was only 1 tech from navigation.
4 - Had still not built a single wonder (I got HG and was preparing to build Magellans).
What you did wrong? Went to war with the Aztecs, and didn't persuade them to go into republic (which would have boosted your caravan payoffs a load).

By the way, you had republic in 2650BC, I had it in 2050BC. Basically, I was trying to catch up the whole game.

Excuse me, but if you got republic in 2050 then strategicdick obviously had it 1000 years later since he always plays catch up in his games due to his godlike skills and terrible starts. Every game he has horrible starts and through his superior intellect he manages to catch up. He is unstoppable, his trade knowledge second to none. Nobody can put a caravan on a ship and send it across the sea to another city like he does. ANd on top of it all...HE EVEN SHIP CHAINS!! How could you ever possibly think to match his skill? There are no games where he gets better huts, there are no games where he gets better land, there are no games where he gets trade first and there are no games where he gets republic first. I hope to learn from him someday for he is surely far superior to me.

I sometimes stuff up and get trade and republic first but one day I hope to learn from the master and do it better.

You Horse's A$$, of course ship chaining doesn't work if you just dangle it in the water. You gotta attach the chain to the anchor. Or you could tie the chain to the dock… Tieing the chain around StratK's neck won't work either, although it might please the masses.
