Chris does a wonderful job of intereviewing. These things are a lot of fun too read. I remember being sorta anti-FOA. Now I'm not.
Nits (really, truly...just nits...wouldn't want to hurt your tender feelings, groundpounder!):
- I did think Chris was a little too "touchy-feely" by first asking about the wife and kids. I liked it in the Ming interview...especially because we'd heard so much about them. Here it was a little strange as the first questions. Still, it was really interesting to learn this stuff.
-The questions about Spanish prejudice seemed a little bit of a leading (or at least a real softball) question. To respond. I haven't noticed much anti-Spanish prejudice. We only tease the Greeks and the French. But there, the reason is that (of course) they deserve it.
Other:
-Really interesting to hear that JB is a professor. I thought he was younger...a grad student maybe. Also, neat to learn that he is a chemist. (my major.)
-liked the tip of the hat to the old Addicted gang. Neat to be singled out. Thanks, Bene...I mean Jay Bee!

Great job, Chris! And thanks again to Jay for his participation for without it this interview would not have been possible.

If you wait a few months, then GP can interview me in person, and vice versa .

Great interview, especially for scenario fanatics like me, but also in general.
And yes, I´d also like to see MtG interviewed.

I fear to interview Uber as I don't want to live in his repression camps .
After Dan, DarkCloud goes.

I always begin an interview with a little personal backround, so you can get a feel of who the hell is being interviewed.
The stuff about racism is quite obvious if you read the Civ-3 section, there are many threads of it, and it's quite frustrating for our Iberian friends.
I've also seen it in the off-topic as well.
Markos
There are a few errors, on page one one of my questions and Jay's answer are not differenciated, and there is a run-on on page two as well.
For everybody else, that was my last interview for the forseeable future, the old Solver format will be used from this point on.

Old Solver format . Heh... well I'll try to improve my interviews a little bit, too. I've sent Dan out a preliminary list of 40 questions.

You should try to do interviews in real time, questionaires aren't the best format.

Chris, I completely agree. I will thusly try to make it a bit more real-timish.
I would really love to do real-time interviews, but mainly there's the timezone problem... though I have recently acquired a cable connection, and no more have a problem staying online for many hours, it's still that, with a difference of 8 or so hours, it's not convinient at all.

Solver, it totally changes the dynamic. It's worth spending the time to get them set up this way.
I would be interested in learning if Chris does these by ICQ/AIM or if he does them by phone. Either way, much better than a questionaire.

Army, it's feedback. Take it as a stray data point. If everybody else feels different, or if you just KNOW better, disregard my data point! Anyhow, we'll probably have to agree to disagree.
I like getting the personal background at the beginning also. One of the real benefits of the FOA is to learn the person behind the typing. Something we've both done by in person meetings also. Also, I guess Spanish pride (and insults to Spain) is something big with JB. So of course it is good to let JB have his say here. Just think that on both fronts, you could have been a little less leading. I don't like it on ESPN either when they do this...
Anyhow, you do a good job...so I hope you will come out of retirement to do MTG's interview.

Where does DarkCloud live? I'd like to have him interviewed in-person, maybe?

The Ming one was done over ICQ chat in two nights, the Jay one was done with AIM early on a saturday morning.
I think MTG better be asked whether he wants to be interviewed, I don't think he would be keen on it.

A wonderful job, Chris!
My only nit is that I wouldn't mind reading two more pages of interview! Perhaps something more on why Civ3 has been a major disappointment for Jay Bee, and what does his mantra "Civ3 KK" exactly mean...
I especially liked the bit about the Spanish Gang. Fame at last!

Great interview!
Albeit a bit short
Here's a little code that got messed up and Dan might wish to fix:
"Chris 62: Almost 4? Jay Bee : When joking I always refer to her as the "apple of my eye" (Zeppelinesque reference), yes, almost 4 The other one is almost 1. She was born in Spain during my current leave-of-absence period. Sofia. Big trouble to pick a name for her. I liked Alicia better. "
Once again, good interveiw

Thank you JB/CP. Very good interview.
I guess I should be happy I've missed all the Spanish-bashing as I didn't even know it went on. It saddens me a bit to hear that it does
