My favorite is the 3rd, the red x is in much higher resolution, IMO, such a vibrant red.

The second shot, Spanish, sure looks like Winter to me.
Awesome! The WWII scenario could be great. 1 turn per month? Week?

Ah, duh, click on the x. Sorry I'm a moron.
anyway, yeah, the spanish conquistador scene looks great. hope it is winter time, esp since that shot is near the equator, I wouldn't expect snow that far. Perhaps this is just a cold map.

Most probably : it's a standard game (mediaeval units fight with ancient), and you know that turns in a standard game are counted in years, not in seasons. I don't think they'll make such a thing as a monthly basis in a normal game, this radical change would have been largely advertised (and would have been stupid IMHO). I sure hope they'll let custom turn suration in scenarios. Very possible, as Civ2 did it.

I agree. It would effectively double the turns in the game, having both winter and summer for each turn, which is pretty unneccesary imo.
i think it probably just reflects a colder overall climate.

Uhhh. How do you do a WWII scenario at 1 year per turn? Well, you could have it go till 2356ce. Or you could allow some flexibility of what turns represent.

Uhhh, I think he was talking about a standard game, which the screenshot was of. I would hope that scenarios can be played as months or weeks or perhaps even days. And it would be quite cool to have seasonal changes. Give me some credit, nye, please?

I think they're staged shots. Units and cities placed with the editor.

What have they done with the buttons next to the info box?
And more important what do you think the buttons over the infobox is doing?

That winter landscape looks really cool! Can't wait to play a WW2 Eastern Front scenario...
There seem to be quite a lot of new features: what is the command button with a dot and arrow going around it? (Maybe it's patrol mode?) And what is the button with the sword?

Any idea why all the new civ's have red as the color? I guess it is just a convenience at this stage of development. It would be nice if they could introduce a season (summer, winter) split for scenarios.

I only see a year... not a season... I think Gramphos is right. That's probably just one of the new terrain palette sets. In other words, no seasons it seems.

Nope. No seasons. Just the new terrain set. They set up a map to see how the terrain looks like. That is my guess.

It looks to me like the buttons on the left (above the info box) are for scrolling through all your cities, either back or forward using the arrow keys. Likewise, the buttons on the right are for scrolling through all your units.
In general, I am really impressed with Firaxis. I have NEVER seen a game get so much support after being published. They are constantly tweeking the game and adding new features. Great job guys!

In the last screenshot, the one with the Vikings, I can clearly see the radio towers(or what that tile improvement is called), but are those colony-looking things with an arrow on it an airport? That is what I would guess, but I couldn't see that clear at first look.
And the "classic look" in the MP setup screen, what is that?
Oh, I can hardly wait!

Hmmmm, there sure are a lot of airports everywhere... maybe the airport is now an on-screen improvement even for cities? It makes sense. It seems as though nearly every city has an adjacent airport.

Trip :
Nope, city airports remain a city improvement. Kopenhagen(south) has an airport. In the screenshots, there is alos a bunch of radar towers, just to let you see how it looks like on various terrains.

whats that 3rd unit?
The posed unit picture? It looks like a UU.... koreans maybe? looks like some sort of gunpowder driven catapult replacement.
And anyone have any idea what the new radio buttons mean? The one with the sword is intriguing....

I just thought I'd point out the fact that one of those games has a date 2110 BC I thought there were 50 year turns at this time?
As for the Seasons, that would be a hell of a drain on a computer, having to change the graphics entirely every turn. It would be extremely good for scenarios though .

No, a desert could easily have snow. What do you think tundra is? Just look a Antarctica. The largest desert in the world. It just has a lot of snow becasue it practically never evaporates.
A desert is just an area with VERY little precipitation. It does not need to be hot, and in fact hot deserts get quite cold during the night, too.

Desert: Little to no precipitation
Snow is precipitation
Desert with snow doesn't make much sense
Just a late night logical conclusion...
