Hey History Guy. Why has thou forsaken us over in the Demo game?
We weep for your benevolent attention.

It seems to be a different pic of Genghis, one not on the Compilation! In fact, it looks to be the REAL Ancient Genghis. Look at the fury shirt, and the necklace, shoulders, etc. It's not the same pic as is shown for the Ancient Genghis on the Compilation. This must be the genuine Ancient Genghis!

so "our" ancient Genghis is really the medieval Genghis then?

Notyeeither-- I haven't. I've been on vacation. I'm back, and preparing to do some work as co-historian.
Gangerwolf-- Verily. Or so it appears.

I was just wondering, who's to say the Hwacha isn't the Mongol unit? Historically, I don't think they conquered the Koreans but that hasn't stopped Firaxis before.
What would be the best UU for the Mongols? There's already a horseman.

Their unit has been shown before in the first batch of screens; I believe it's the Keshik, an upgraded horseman.

The unit called 'Sultan Osman' in the new PtW screenshot has A/D/M stats of 1/1/2, whereas the 'leaders' in v1.29 have 0/0/3.

I just noticed that myself but couldn't post as I was at work. I just saw a unit that looked just like a great leader (i.e. a leader created through an elite victory. That's what I meant History Guy) but now I see, as you've pointed out, that they have 2 movement, and an actual attack and defense; which means that the unit must be the regicide unit. I was hoping for new units, not just re-used great leaders. Though perhaps in this case the Ottoman Sultan just appears to look like the ancient age great leader. Either that or it's the Ottoman UU

*update*
Added Brennus' ancient pic.
Wouldn't you know it, my guesses for the 8 civs were right the 1st time!
Also made some changes to the mysterious ottoman/arab leader's entry.

Oh, and by the way, Ixnay, not to criticise at all (this is excellent work), but you still have the Medieval Genghis in Ancient Genghis's place, and Ancient Genghis ain't even up there. Keep up the good work!

Thanks; I must have missed your earlier post. So, I added ancient Genghis, moved his large pic to medieval, and adjusted the contrast/size of his other pics so they look better.

Looks splendid, Ixnay. So now we've got everything of Isabela and Genghis Khan Temujin (as I think the way they will do it is to have Genghis Khan his title and Temujin his name, as would be correct), if some of the pictures are a bit hazy.
Brennus...everybody says he looks scary, but I must remind them that here he is smiling at us, and looking nice. Wait till the ANGRY BRENNUS picture is released before you start screaming for mercy and hiding behind the couch in fear that the computer might come over there and smack your teeth with the keyboard!!

Big update today:
We now have everyone's name
We also have at least one picture of everyone (except Hannibal)
And that Arab/Ottoman leader debate has been solved.
Wang Kon looks really freaky, but we can save that for another thread.

Poor Ghengis, Firaxis has turned him into an Ancient drag queen.
I can't imagine what his defeated screen looks like.

I checked the screenshots and Abu Bakr, an early caliph, is the Arab leader.

Odin-- Ummm...yes. Not only was Abu Bakr an early caliph, he was the first, and in his two year reign he conquered the whole of Arabia. He was Muhammad's right-hand man, and the father of Muhammad's six-year old wife...hmmm...

History Guy; are you saying some guy had an affair with the wife of Allah's prophet?

No, darn it. I meant to say "six-year old wife"...
...Now I'm probably on some hit list...

In essence, what I meant was that Abu Bakr was Muhammad's father-in-law, and his six-year old daughter was Muhammad's wife...

Darkworld Ark--
You are quite incorrect. At the time, Muhammad marrying a six year old was considered quite scandalous, but the prophet said that Allah had allowed him the privaledge to marry this...kid. I suppose someone as devoted as Abu Bakr wouldn't have argued.
Ixnay--
Whoops...sorry, guy.
