Some civvish (ctpish) ones. Don't know how suitable these are but see what you can use:
Code:
|
Blood shall run.
-- CtP1 Warrior
%
No lemurs were harmed in the opening of this file.
-- St Swithin (Activision), tut2_main.slc
%
int_t RETARD; //probably won't ship with this
-- St Swithin (Activision), tut2_main.slc [yes, it was shipped with this]
%
ARBITRARY_TERRAIN_VALUE = 650; //I don't know; just sounded good
-- St Swithin (Activision), tut2_main.slc
%
dumbass workaround for dumbass design flaw
-- St Swithin (Activision), tut2_main.slc
%
more workarounds than you could shake a lemur poo at
-- St Swithin (Activision), tut2_main.slc
%
note to self: bad design always finds a way of biting you right on the butt
-- St Swithin (Activision), tut2_main.slc
%
oh, baby, show me your workaround face
-- St Swithin (Activision), tut2_main.slc
%
//general warnings n' info about **** that happens in the game
//there's a lot of them; I don't ****ing care enough to comment each one
-- St Swithin (Activision), tut2_main.slc
% |
I'm sure St Swithin won't mind
Edit: bah! the last one isn't nearly as good with auto-censor on

Some Apolytoner quotes:
Code:
|
If Alexander's Horse is so good, how come there are so many threads about fixing him?
-- Nordicus
%
Does Mrs. Ming know her husband is spanking kids over the Internet?
-- WesW
%
Yes, yes, list your favorite tricks and strategies...I will then alter the game to render them ineffective! Ha, Ha, Ha!
-- WesW
%
I have thought of manually adjusting your attitude...
-- Skorpion59
%
I have several that could do for #7--Microcomputers: the best one, which I'm considering, is of a computer. I did have three different types of silicon chips I was thinking of using, but I can't seem to find the damn things now...lost amid the maze of files somewhere. So, what do you think?
-- Nordicus
I think you need to take a course in organizational skills.
-- WesW
%
I *may* have solved some of the problem with specialists tonight. Then again, I may have screwed things up- I don't know. If that happens, I won't know whether to laugh, cry, or both. God, I'm starting to sound like Nordicus (the horror!). ;)

Hmm, my memory seems to be failing me (too bad my email archive has gone the way of the dodo, had dozens of gems)... maybe because it's 3:00 AM? I'm sure I can remember more tomorrow...

I think we need to edit this Stefu, or it'll be rejected, thus:

And since I'm egotistical (someone actually told me the following, I merely altered it so that it would work better as a quote)
code:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"DarkCloud: A computer on a nasty little Island no one has ever heard of."
-- Theben or n.c.

and my favorite Hydey quote:
code:

"I'm not telling you where I live because you might come down here and rape me

BTW, since you probably have put the Apolytoner quotes in a separate file, I think you could prioritise it a bit higher (at least for now) so that the lovely quotes on this thread would be seen more often... What do you think, Marky?

Do we have "Please don't go. The Dones need you. They look up to you" or whatever it is from SMAC? If not then we prolly should, especially for when people like Skanky get logged off.

Here's one I saw in a sig on another forum.

Hmmm, you can't do italics in a code block, which would actually be non-italics because the quote is given in italics… nevermind. Don't know if this is actually a quote or just a paraphrase.

Your Latin is impeccable, but I was always taught that the actual quote was "Cartago delenda est" as Cato somewhat predates De Bello Gallico which is normally taken as the defining text for 'classical Latin' I find it more convincing.
n.b. I am NOT a Latin scholar and the above is entirely IMHO and does not claim to be definitive...
