Firaxis: Small Worthwhile Trade Tweak
i really wish there was an "exclude" option for trades.
for example, early in the game, i'm usually the first to literature, so i can get the great library. i never want to trade literacy until i have a large portion of the GL done. but whenever i want to trade with another civ, and i say "what do you want for Polytheism", they never fail to throw Literature in there, and again, i will never trade it.
if there were a way to "exclude" things, techs, cities, resources, anything, it would be a VERY great addition to AI diplomacy.
thanks guys, the game keeps getting better.

Yeah, and it should be possible to demand them to accept a trade that isnt just them giving you something.

An exclude option is a good idea.
I'll be a supporter if the interface makes it simple (like right clicking on the tech/luxury/whatever to make it excludable). If the interface is heavy, the bad would outweight the good.

Normally I'd agree with you. The only problem is, every AI civ ends up with Literature 3 turns afterwards anyways so it would be useless...

that was just an example, heres another one.
just say you have extra rubber, and you DONT want to trade it to a civ, because you dont want them to have infantry. every deal you make, they'll throw rubber in. you should be able to exclude it.

And then they'll just get it for 2 gold per turn from another AI civ.
But yes, I see your point.

Even on Regent, I find that if I refuse to trade a tech, then a couple turns later every AI civ has it...

Uber and others,
I like the idea of exclusions... but before dealing with that, Firaxis PLEASE give us a unified trading screen. I'll take anything; obviously, the data is there in the SAV... even a separate little program, like Civstats, ANYTHING.
