Conquest or nothing?
Having never played a game on Deity level or with the MGE, you'll have to be patient with me. Is the only way to win on that level to steamroll through a conquest victory, or is a science victory possible? Also, how long till it's all over?

in MGE, the computer AI won't keep a peace treaty with you unless you completely suck up to them at all times, and even then, they are still likely to attack you.

You can win under either victory condition at Deity, Bigcash. But the AI makes it much easier and more satisfying to just KILLKILLKILL the bastards!!!!!!!!!!!!

Landing on Alpha Centauri is a winning option at Deity level. But at this late date, it would be almost impossible to get the productivity and science needed to build the spaceship. Having focussed on military development, and having stayed in Monarchy and gone directly to Communism, we are pretty much forced to continue a military path.

Excellent. Then here's my recommendation: If we find out how to make nukes and haven't won the scenario, then we need to create an arsenal of 10 or so, so that if we start to run out of turns, we can launch those bad boys and open up a quick invasion force.
Even though I hate nukes because they make the landscape all ugly and make it hard to make a productive city after nuking it, it might be one of our only options if time is running out.

Hmm. Mayhaps the first thing the new Minister of War needs to do is poll on the future of our little war projects. Perhaps the ppl tire of the fighting and we would best be served by concluding our war with Egypt and America, then the City Planner would instigate a series of year plans...

What? This is like playing Civ2 at the slow kids school. You always build Marco Polo's embassy, because it rules.

I never bother with Marco Polo's. A few Diplomats accomplish the same thing, and you don't lose your embassies when Marco's expires. Meanwhile, you've built something else with all those shields. Let the AI have Marco's, much good it does them. They already know everything you do anyway!

but what if we conquer marco's? isn't that different? and since we're going to wipe out the egyptians anyways. we might as well take marco's as part of the package deal

...You know, deity level is better because the AI will frequently attack themselves anyway wheras on lower levels, they iwll gang up against you
Therefore it's well worth it to conquest

Yes, so we are taking out the Egyptians now and the Americans next. That will free up one large landmass. Then will will go after whoever seems next most dangerous .

OK, Prez !
On the other hand, for large landmass, we may too explore the large dark area yet on our map !

Well, we *do* have one Caravel wandering around exploring. There were 2, but those mysterious Carthaginians treacherously sank one without provocation.

you can be ruthless but you can't be careless... I agree the Carthaginians need to pay for the death of our men, but it will have to be dealt with later after the A&E thing is resolved. perhaps you can talk MWIA into sending an Ironclad up there to hunt the seas. of course that will only work until we make contact with them... then only war will work.

Agreed. The Americans and Egyptians must be taken care of before any other wars are considered. All the more reason to finish them off!
