Acronyms thread
I think it will be good to have a thread here explaining various acronyms we may see on 'Poly.
AFAIK - as far as I know
BB - bulletin board
BTW - by the way (contributed by -Jrabbit)
IANAL - I am not a lawyer

IIRC - if I recall correctly
IMO - in my opinion
IRL - in real life
MOTOS - members of the opposite sex. Variant: MOTOG
MOTS - more of the same
MOTSS - members of the same sex. Variant: MOTSG
PCR - post count reduction (contributed by Ecthelion)
ROTFLMAO - roll on the floor laughing my arse off (a zillion variants)
RTFM - read the fine manual (thanks to Tuberski and ignoring Asher's suggestion  )
SO - significant other
SOL - **** out of luck
TINSTAAFL - there is no such thing as a free lunch. Variant: TANSTAAFL - there ain't no such thing as a free lunch (contributed by -Jrabbit)

I started one in Civ3 General about 5 months ago and was soon told that I shouldn't be lazy and sift through the zillions of old threads to find the first one.
Told by the same ppl who could have found it themselves and seemed helpful for a change.
