Using Shift Right-Click you can "complete" the web. You are still limited to seeing 8 civs, but you can choose which 8.

It can take an aweful lot of Shifting to get the complete picture though if that is what you were getting at.

That is very true.
You would also have to keep track of the relationships between each of the civs as well; with 15 other civs, for example, you would want to know Civ A's relationships with all 14 of the other civs. Missing even one could be a disaster if he had an MPP with someone else that had other MPP's.

Yeah, spy networks are the way to go. And what if you could sign a secret mutual protection or trade pact with a nation (even one that was supposedly part of a blockade against you) that was only viewable by a certain espionage action. (Diplomatic code-breaking, anyone?)

This is why they should either get rid of the web (maybe replace it with a basic matrix) or at the very least include space for all 16 heads.

I want all 24 heads please. And I want some means of determining who is trading with whom, and possibly even what they are trading. Such information should be available if I have an embassy. Also, a "Steal Production Plans" or something should be available that reveals what is being built in the target civ's cities. Having to investigate each one at a time is too micromanagement intensive.

Not to mention expensive (reloading won't be an option once in an MP game)

I like Uber's suggestions. Those screens would be very helpful.

You're not on my ignore list but I have little to do with the design of the game. As Dan pointed out earlier, Jeff is the man for all things Civ. I'll point out your thread though.
...and my last name is spelled Breitkreutz.

Sorry Mike, but spelling Breitkreutz is too much of a challenge for some .
Jeff is the man, but you're the one to blame for the editor, so we want part of our revenge on you, too .

It's already possible to mod what they say in the specific text file. It's also possible to mod their looks in the specific graphic files. I don't think it will be possible to mod their screens (i.e : the trade advisor will always show icons and countries, however you mod). But it's also possible to change the looks of the screens.

You might be able to change the way the screen looks, but you won't be able to add information to be displayed (e.g how many turns the existing trades will last).
