Terrain specials: "short" knight move settling
when I can set at least 2 specials, my settler will found a new city so that its is a "short" knight move away from each of them (one field horizontal or vertical, one diagonal). Maybe there will be some - yet invisible or hidden - specials, examples:
X S - - X
- - - - h
- - C - -
h - - - -
X - - -SX
X S - - X
- - - - h
- - C - -
- - - - -
S - - - -
X - - h X
S = Special
C = City
X = Not City Terrain (city shape is a big cross)
h = probably hidden specials
That's important for unexplored terrain. For example, you can see two whales or fish, maybe there are some more.

No **** sherlock...
One our RamsesII maybe doesn't know:
You can use caravans/freights to get science( #gold you get= #beakers you get),but you can only fill the science-box 1 time(ie you can get 1 tech out of caravans/turn) BUT you can overflow the sciencebox by getting more then 32.000 beakers
causing you to have a negative amount of beakers in the science-box.

Now, now. We have seen newbies to CivII showing up once in a while, it might be news to them.
Shade, we'll call your discovery the Shade Beaker Overflow Factor, to be remembered for generations to come!

beleive it or not,civ2 is still getting new players.With the recent re-release of civ2,new players are still discovering what they have been missing.Civ3 is also partially responsible.Least something good came out of it
Terrain Special Pattern
Hut Pattern
These can be studied at the same time by making a small all land(anything cept grass) map.Play with the resource seed #s a little.It will be very evident.

Only 2/5 for that Hydey - you will have to try MUCH harder.
Glad to see you are back on your feet.
