Ceremonial Titles
This hasn't got anything to do with Capitalism, or even City Planning, its just an idea I came up with..
We have all these ex-Presidents and Advisors, but no way of really rewarding them. So why not give them titles?
They wouldn't have to do anything, but their titles would show that they have given good service to Apolyton.. like that would happen
Anyway, they could go like:
Sir (name) of (city)
Baron (name) of (city)
Earl (name) of (city)
Duke (name) of (city)
Lord (name) of (city)
Just a thought.. they'd be appointed by the President, and could be given to anyone, cabinet or not.
Like I said, just a thought

all citizens are equal within our communist paradise. no one deserves a title. however, i am not against honoring them by renaming caputered cities for them

Yea! I'd fancy something like "Sir Kassiopeia" or "Lord Kassiopeia"...
Glad to see you're taking the command of the profession of City Planning, Bear.

no...its similarity with skywalker's constitution scares me...even if there is no power, it might be the first step towards something like that constitution

giving titles to people sounds iffy to me, some of the people who would get them wouldn't deserve them in certain peoples eyes. Also if we were to have a corrupt or unprepared President they might give the titles away in exchange for polotical favors, or "assistance"
CORRUPTION MUST BE DEALT WITH BEFORE IT HAPPENS IN ORDER TO MAINTAIN A 'FAIR' SYSTEM
NO TITLES

If the titles don't grant any special powers and are only symbols of respect, then I am for them. I thought about posting an idea similar to this.

It's obvious they don't grant any special powers but they're "shiny objects", things that people will do anything to
get.
Maybe if a council was set up to give these titles to people than I would agree with it. I also think instead of titles it should be medals.
If we did create a council to deal with this I think it should be headed by the VP, but the members (let's say 4 of them) should be elected by the 'public'.
BUT UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD ONE PERSON HAVE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF GIVING THESE 'SHINY OBJECTS' FOR REASONS I HAVE ALREADY STATED IN A PREVIOUS POST ON THIS THREAD.

My original idea was the use of medals, I and agree with you Space05us, a council should be set up for this.

Oh, I don't know. It sounds kind of redundant: Marquis "Marquis de Sodaq".And what if you earned "King"? King Marquis de Sodaq? Nah, doesn't sound right at all. And what about "Citizen of the Revolution Marquis de Sodaq? Why, you could lose your head for that!
