file type csh
Help, I have some files that are ships that I found on the web at some point and I am not sure what they are for. They have a file type csh. Anyone know what the deal is with them? I stuck them in a folder for Moo2, so I guess that is the game they are associated with.

Are you shure those aren't c-shell files?
Open one of them in a text editor and see if it begins with a line like
#!/bin/csh

Nah, shells are for unix types. This is some ships file for Moo2 that I am not sure what you do with it. It has names like avenger, defiant, antarian. Looked at them with a hex editor and it is jibberish except for the name.

Well, it was worth a try, wasn't it.
Don't have a clue. Did you download these with an editor?

If they are ship files, can you rename them to the standard ship extension and then try to open them in the program?

Sorry Vmxa1, most of the time I'm posting from work. Don't have my games here as my boss probably won't like it if I played games all day long.

You've definitely got a ship file. Go to Jeffery Tobin's ZOETROPE
site and hunt around, I'm sure you'll find out anything you need Moo2 related. All the old SFF.net threads are stored there. A wealth of info from the early gaming gods of moo2. Huge amounts of info!!! Have fun here's the link http://www.sff.net/people/zoetrope/

Thanks. I went there and followed the links to some good sites. They had the ships, so that is what they are, but still do not know what I am to do with them. Do I copy them into some folder to see what they do or do you need a tool to incorporate them into the game. I did find a few game scenarios that were created, so I am going to try them out.

Ok, I got it now. Using Corion2, you can load the defiant.csh in as either a replacement for an eisting ship in the game or as a new ship design. You can use the editor to change any ship and save it as a csh file to load later. I just wanted to see what the ships I found looked like.
