There is no official release date, but from past experience, the date that EB has is probably correct - a weeks difference at the very most.

I heard June 17 but a day really makes no difference.
Especially for me. I wouldn't be able to play it until at least a week after it come out; I'm taking a little trip.

The 18th is more likely than the 17th, because new software, music, etc.... usually comes out on Tuesdays.

I seen 17th for the 2 books coming out with the game. One is a tutorial for creating dungeons or whatever. The other is some kind of walkthrough.
But the game itself shows 18th
Also another site linked from the official bioware site shows the 18th as well. Game Stop is the site I believe.
Also another site linked from the official site shows the 19th.
So I'm keeping my hopes up it is somewhere in that time frame.

of course
not right away though. I would also like to create some areas. I'm still unclear if you can create vaste outdoor areas. I'm better at those than dungeons.
I would like to complete the single player campaign first. But I may not be able to resist tinkering with it. I may just start modifying the original campain early.

Are you a good DM? I might get the game if I could hook up with an experienced DM.

err probably not . I'm an evil DM. I plan on killing anyone who enters my areas .
But I admit I'm not real good at coming up with snazzy dungeon areas. They all look the same to me . I might be interested in creating some slums or outdoor areas.
I would be more of a casual DM. I'm not that hardcore.
But plenty of people are, and it would be interesting to check out their Dm'ing and created modules.
anything I create will probably be average. I rate myself as an average DM. I just want to create and so something fun.
I'm more into creating modules than DM'ing them. DM seems like a full time job

I might have heard that date for the books. Games have come out on days other than Tuesday though.

Ahh.
I'm just saying that it shouldn't be surprising if it comes out on a Monday.

If it were due out in 10/11 days I'd expect an official announcement by now.

There have been games in which the official date was released within 5 days.

In case people are following this thread and don't know where to find the official info...
Bioware's Neverwinter Nights Official Site
You can pre-order the game there, and also sign up for an official newsletter which will presumably tell you the release date as soon as it is 100% confirmed.

I assume that's probably a US release date and we'll probably have to wait a while longer in Europe ? I suppose on the plus side there should be lots of material available by the time we get it

That's good news then - on the debit side that only gives me about three weeks to finish Morrowind. Think i need to book my summer holidays early.

Heh - pity me. I have a week at a summer camp, a week in Hawaii and potentially three weeks in Cornwall dling a show. In addition, I really need to do some revision and some programming projects over the holidays. And I have a friend who'll, erm, give me his entirely legal copy of JK2 ( ), and FP's gift of BG & TotSC, Fallout & Fallout 2 to contend with. Argh!

You want pity for a week in Hawaii ? I guess its a pretty long flight but other than that ??
Hope you enjoy Fallout and BG +TOSC. I want to replay Fallout 2 purely because i want to make it as a porn star. Matter of personal honour !

well no. The week in Hawaii is obviously a good thing. The "doing this stuff will reduce time, meaning will have to be strict about not wasting too much time on various computer games when I need to work" thing is what needs pity.

Going gold is overrated. SMAC went gold three times.

I just bought Baldurs Gate 2.
I must say I'm impressed. Whilst some of the concepts are counter-intuative, the plot is proceeding nicely, very interesting.
Neverwinter nights may get a look from me.

Hmm, i'd say that was extremely exceptional. Now that patching by internet is universal, while the Gold rolls through the production and distribution process they can be preparing patch 1.1, 1.2 and so on for immediate availability on the day of release. I've not heard of any other game getting pulled back into design after going gold.

The problem with the first SMAC gold was a bug. The problem with the second is that OSI messed up the second gold. The third was successful though.
