Great, I need a weekend off Poly!

The forums are relatively new, so a few down periods are to be expected. They'd be really stupid if they don't upgrade soon though.

So, Markos, are you implying that no one ever got the same message on Apolyton?
All for all, I have to agree with you though.

How many have we had on this server? Could we handle the kind of loads we had with the Civ3 release? How are you preparing for the onslaught when PtW is released?

I know Markos. But what I was trying to point out was simply they have a new forum and it might take some time to get all the bugs worked out just like you have done with Apolyton. Which, by the way, I am very thankful for!

If you don't mind my saying -- I think Infogrames is running a LOT of forums on the same "boxen". So yes, they're getting overloaded from time to time, but not on account of the MOO3 forum, or at least not mostly.
They have several thousand users across the forums at that website. [Edit: from the forums list page: Registered Members: 70,428]
Of course, I'm not too thrilled with a "too busy" response, either -- I'm getting one right now, in fact. They definitely need to up their capacity, whether the MOO3 forum is adding enough load to push it over the top, or *especially* if it would get swamped like this even beforehand.

it's the amount of simultaneous users that really counts...

That's what I've been getting for 4 hours now over there.
If the Infogrames Forum is representative of their games.........

hi ,
okay , KPNQuest , one of the biggest providers in the world is chapter - 11 , as a result there lines are going down , the employees try to work for free , because it has major implications on the internet , but the curator does not agree , ......
the inframes server could suffer from it aswell , also KPNQ is one of the largest in the world when it comes to the renting of server space , and this shall go aswell , ...
in Europe they have about 35 % of all lines , and about 15 % of servers , ....
still with a server in the US you should (are you ?) okay , ...
have a nice day

it's one thing to have a slow connection as it would the case if it was something related to KPNQuest and another in this case.
in this case it is an issue of the server not being able to handle all the requests, e.g. a hardware(cpu, ram) upgrade is needed

It has nothing to do with the KPNQwest fiasco -- though if you're a user in Europe, you might be incidentally affected.
MarkG and the others are right -- for whatever reason, the Infogrames forum servers are getting significantly more load than they can handle.
I hope someone screwed the pooch when they moved MOO3 and possibly other games to the site recently -- I'd hate to think they were operating like this well in advance of the move. I say that because I certainly would have voiced opposition to the move (I found out about a month ahead of time as a moderator), if I'd known it had user-access problems even before it got a ton of new users.

also , there was this problem a couple weeks a go , then they lost something in the forums , (theirs) they sended a message around saying sorry , only a small amount was lost .
have a nice day
