Select all you want. >50% results in the option being selected.

I put no timelimit on this poll. It will count until the first game is started.

IMO, clutural and diplo victories will end the game "early" and will not be as satisfying. Random seed just to discourage cheating... and civ abilities just for the heck of it. Culturally linked starting locations... because they make sense.

I completly agree with you. Sometimes I forget to uncheck culture and diplo, and either I'm just about to win say, domination when suddenly the UN pops up and I lose or I win a culture victory. It's annoying.

I voted Space Race, Domination, Conquest, Preserve Seed, Civ Specific, and Read the first post.

I prefer world conquest but I think we should leave all options open.

Cheating This is a diplogame, no reason to cheat, we cant 'win' anything in playing this game but a lot of fun

it's a matter of practice at this point atwa, we just dont want the president to follow his orders and reload the save several times until he wins, we want to see some losses. (well, we dont want to SEE them, but we want to know they can and will exist)

with the new patch, it lets you preserve the random seed.

it's a comp prog. term, meaning that if it's preserved, you get the same results every time you run it. it results in the same calvary losing the same battles no matter how many times you reload the game.

if you turn it off then you could reload the game until you win the battles... very gay.

I dont like the Diplo and Space victories. They always stop the game before the interesting part of complete world conquest using all modern technology starts.

Yes, but I included all the options. We shall not reload anyways. So it doesn't have any big effect (other then that the same results can't be recreated if the game crashes).

Looks like most (by a LONG shot) want all options except for culturally linked starts and (maybe) restarts. Once the poll is over, do we then use all options with more than 50% of the total # of voters' votes?

eg 30 voters, every option with 15+ is used.

Everything but Diplo (pops up from nowhere, ruining our fun) and Cultural (same reason).

I voted for Space Race. We have to have an alternative way to win the game, because sometimes the masses act in a harming way...

It generally finishes the game just when its getting fun.

well, we don't have to go for a diplo victory...we can always build the UN and deny it to the AI if that's what the people vote for.

Good point, ixnay. We would need to actually do something for a diplo victory - it doesn't just creep up on us whilst we ar playing (unlike Cultural victory) - I think diplo enabled might give us a good way of winning if we badly need it.

To actually go for it though we'd need the ppl to vote yes to it. Here the ppl are only voting for the OPTION to vote yes...

Looks like we are going to play with the default rules. Every option has more than 50% votes. Actually, that is fine with me. We can keep all options open then.

I voted on:
*Space race victory
*Diplomatic victory
*Conquest victory
*Cultural victory
*Allow Civ-specific abilities
*I've read the first post

I don't like the domination victory, I mean, if you want to controll the world, do it properly! And I want the starting positions to be fully random, and not culturally linked.

That's my 2 cents.

Just a question to people: Why preserve random seed?
We're not going to be cheating in this game, and if the game crashes, the person playing it will already know what has happened, so he can either do the same thing (if it was good), or do something different, and count on the same result every time. If we don't preserve the random seed, then it's random, and fair, as it should be.
