Sprayber and Urban Ranger.
Zhu Yuanzang and Shi Huangdi.
Oh, an most of the Finns, though that's more of an observation than an actual problem...

Hell, of course it seems obvious now, but it still doesn't bring back all the sleepless nights wasted on trying to figure that out.

The people that usually fade away in my mind are the ones who change names and avatars all the time. Specially that Trappist/LazarusAnd The Gimp/what's_his_name_now guy. I can;t relate these people to their older handles.
People who are using cliche avatars like chegitz guevara and sikander use that SMAC dude. Hell, I changed my partisan avatar partly in order to be easily distinguisshed from Tingkai and a few others that also used it.
People using the American flag.
Kropotkin and KrazyHorse for some reason.
Provost Harisson, Provost B and Provost D, in the old days. Back then I had a slight problem with Iain Lindley, Imran Sidiqqui and Lincoln too.
SlowwHand and Sprayber (americans in the armed forces?)
Actually very few Apolytoners have any distinguishable character in my eyes, except for their names and possibly nationalities. F.e. I know that JayBee is Spanish but I can't remember his political allegiance or what threads he prefers posting into. People from countries with massive presence here are more difficult to distinguish than others.

Sometimes I thought MrFun was Siro and stuf like that. It happened when soem weirdos felt like it was cool to sue the Israeli flag as an avatar icon, and I'm talking about Americans doing that.
Cyber...Shy? Gnu? the guy that uses the Bad Religion thing I happen to mix up with PH, naturally.

yeah, my avator was 'almost' the same as PH's one.
It was a protest avator.
I changed mine now, but it's just a temporary one.
I want my old one back, but it seems like I didn't save it anywhere

I like how Chris has an acatar connected to sokmething we know about him. I picked mine the same way as a stereotype of myself. It's the branding/advertising logic.

I picked mine to get it through a few thick skulls that Ethelred is man's name and not to confused with Ethel.
One guy did come up with something different though. Tetraethyl lead is red so he thought I was named after the old bad for the environment ethyl gasoline.

(Well, maybe being Chinese is a prerequisite for seeing the link between Shi Huangdi and Zhu Yuanzhang in the first place. )
also: Sagacious Dolphin and LightEning. But that was before LightEning participated in the Conquest Thread. Cleared it up immediately.

Sprayber,
Yours and Urban Ranger's handle come across very similar for some odd reason. It's not your posts I confuse, it's the handles.
Handle with care.

I only confuse people with identical avatars. paiktis and Snappy is a prime example.
You learn past histories/handles after a while.

I confuse Bugs ****ing Bunny and Lazarus and the Gimp all the time. Hell, maybe they're the same people, and I missed something. I just can't follow their screenname change history, and they're both witty as hell.
I always thought Sagacious Dolphin was Giant Squid returned, and I just missed the return. Is he not?
I get Ecthy and Echinda mixed up...or once again maybe they're the same people.
I also have no clue who half the people here are, it seems. Seems like a whole lot of "newbies."
I get confused if MrFun doesn't say he's gay in a post.
I also get all the old spammers mixed up, like Djug, orange...Giant Squid...I dunno. Hey orange, didn't you used to be called something else?

I just haven't seen Echinda post in a while, so I didn't know if he changed his name. I also have to look twice whenever you post, too, probably because I can't pronounce the name and thus it's not in prominent memory.

That's interesting. Someone here has actually noticed my posts, and confused me with someone. I am spamming too much lately.
I used to mix up Kamrat X and Comrade Tribune when they just joined. As I grew to know Kamrat X better, and Comrade Tribune turned into a lurker ( no he didn't leave ) , I stopped mixing them up.
